LOL! Yep! Well, at least for the running part!

I have to admit I NEVER ran with large breasts. When I had my breast reduction I was told I had more weighty breast tissue than fat and because of the sheer weight of them I could not run comfortably. I would double up on bras and by the end of a workout I was applying antibiotic ointment to the raw patches of skin under my arms and under my breasts. These were bras I paid over $100 for! It was also incredibly hard on my back. My x-rays showed degenerative disc mainly behind my chest cavity. Now that I am a C cup I can run, do jumping jacks and step classes without the pain. I still slouch - always will I think, as I didn't have my surgery until I was 36 years old. Big boobs might look great but they're no friend to your spine!

I had my reduction done in Dec 2004 when I was 35. I talked to several surgeons but in the end went with the one recommended by my primary care doctor; he said he had sent several women to her. Funny thing is she was totally the opposite of warm and fuzzy in terms of personality so that's not why I chose her. I just kind of trusted her more. She also had a LOT of experience doing reductions -- that's something to ask any doctor you're considering. Don't go to someone that just does a few per year -- if they're good they'll be doing them every WEEK.

I still have pink raised "smiley" scars under my breasts, but I knew I had a tendency to scar in that way, so I'm not bothered by it. But that's something to keep in mind if that would upset you. (They are hypertrophic scars, which some people are susceptible to especially on their chests and stomachs -- I had childhood chickenpox scars in those areas that always remained raised so that is the kind of sign to look for.)

I would still do it again in a minute -- and would have done it much sooner if I'd known!
