I'm so glad you bumped. I hadn't thought to try the bars. I use their shakes instead of MRC (they also have more protein and fewer carbs than MRC brand). I like the MRC ready made slightly better, but pure protein ready made taste good, too, and they are cheaper. I haven't checked into the powdered version, but I would assume it's also comparable, and it's WAY cheaper. My husband uses the powdered stuff for weight lifting, so I might give it a try soon since we already have it.

I'm definitely going to try the bars. Even aside from being cheaper, it's nice to have some variety in flavors. Pure Protein also puts out $1 off coupons every so often. I think I have a couple right now.

Vice versa for me, hehe. I've never tried the shakes. Are the shakes for the meal replacements like the bars or do you use them for your HNS's? If they're for meal replacements I'd rather eat a bar than drink a shake. Like I said I feel cheated..Idky but I do. Weird, huh? Can you get the shakes at Walmart? I might give them another try!

I believe you get more bars as well, from what I can remember. I also think that they are bigger. I used to buy things from MRC and cut out the nutritional info and save them for comparison. My husband lost his good paying job 2 months into me starting MRC and I was forced to cut back on all the "luxury" items so I would do that.

Yes, they're the meal replacement shakes. I'm with you-- I like to eat something, but I usually do the shakes if I do MQ. They do taste pretty good. I didn't see the shakes at WalMart, but my Target had them near the pharmacy area. victorialynn found them at Trader Joe's, but the nearest one of those for me is pretty far away. The ready made ones work out to about $2/bottle, and you'd have to drink 2 to match the powdered MRC metaquick shake. Like I said, though, the powder is MUCH cheaper than that.
