Default Monday Chat On The Beach

It feels like summer again this morning although it's still in the 30's. We are getting another sunny and warmish day. I may get my sandals out again!

Yesterday was a glorious day and I got lots of leaves raked plus other outdoor stuff finished. There's a bit more to do today while the weather holds but going to the gym comes first this morning. My friends, Rob and John, are coming to move sewingroom furniture into the downstairs "studio" this evening. I am feeding them a Phase II Lasagna plus salad and need to throw it together later this morning. I'll serve them the pear pie that's been hanging out in the freezer since Thanksgiving and be sure they take the rest home. I'll have just a pear for dessert.

How does your week look as you peer ahead over your coffee mug?

Well weigh in was today and I maintained once again. No more bread for me. THat has to be what it is. I really hate not seeing the scale move..its almost depressing.
My week looks like it does every week sadly...I'm going to a job I despise and dealing with a person I can't stand. I probably won't get my walk in today because I know that person had a fit that I wasn't there on Friday, even if it was a conference approved by my principal. Atleast I have Wednesday off.
I hope everyone else is gonna have a better week than I. See ya later.

Default Motivating Monday Chick-Chat

Hey, it's Monday again.

I felt more like naming this thread Monday Moanings or Monday Mutterrings, or even Grumble and Mumble Monday, but although I feel that way, it's not a very encouraging way to start our week, is it?

The weekend wasn't too bad, and I stayed pretty much OP, although I did cheat on Saturday and had a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard from Dairy Queen for my birthday. It was delicious, and I spooned up every last little drop of it, but that was my only cheat and I climbed right back on the SB wagon again. I hope I made up for the calories yesterday and sweated them out, raking and mulching leaves and dumping them on the vegetable garden.

So what's everyone doing on this fine day? The girls have off school, so we're going to do something that involves being outside. It's warm and sunny, a day that just begs you to get out and enjoy the weather.

Good Morning

It's a Marvelous Monday here. I get to go to the pool for 2 hours of exercise before cruising back over the hill. I have a great week ahead knowing I get to come back next week. The weather has been nice and we've gone back into Winter Denial.

Hi Ruth. Have a great day!

Cottage, it sounds like a beautiful day out. I have every confidence that another cup of coffee will help with an attitude adjustment.

Silly, it sounds like you are determined to not let the actions of others get you down. I think its a huge part of weight loss success. The idea that I eat junk because he or she makes me uncomfortable only hurts ME. Don't let the buggers get you down!!!! Staying OP is about YOU.

It seems like a slow starting Monday. I hope the start of everyone's week is stress free and OP!

This year is going so fast.... We're into week 2 of November already?! The holidays are quickly approaching.

Hi Ruth! You sound busy this week! That lasagna meal sounds fantastic. I hope you enjoy your nice weather while it lasts!

Silly Fluff! ((hugs)) maintaining can be very frustrating. I know that feeling. Just remind yourself that it's not just about the scale, it's about health for life. Thats what I have to do or I would just say "screw this!"

Cottage, Happy birthday again! I hope you enjoyed celebrating your day! Good job on having your little treat and getting back on the wagon.

Good morning Lexxiss! I'm in winter denial too. Ugh. Way too nice out and enjoying every minute of it. Especially having coffee on the back deck. Before I know it, it will be boots and gloves and hats and winter coats. On a positive note, it's nice to live somewhere where there are 4 majorly different seasons.

I didn't weigh in last week because I was off plan a bit for halloween. I won't weigh in this week on Thursday either because I will start my TOM. Right now all I have to go by is my clothes and it seems they are still getting bigger and bigger which means I'm losing inches. That makes me happy.

Might have a job interview this week and have some leads on some others so thats a good thing!

I really haven't figured out the rest of the week yet.. but Thursday night I will be helping my karaoke dj roommate start a karaoke idol contest at the regular bar he works at. I will be helping ppl sign up their songs and tallying the votes. We have 5 weeks of qualifying and then 3 months of finals so this will go through March! Also, Saturday is their engagement party so the best man and I will be picking out decorations this week.

I'll be back in later I think. So have a great day and talk to you all soon!

Morning All!
Nothing too exciting around here - another gloomy and foggy November morning - before it starts to rain later in the day. I'm taking a sewing class this morning and a cooking class tonight so today will fly by. They're predicting snow on Thursday so maybe I canb be done with outside work and concentrate on my sewing room projects.

Ruth - enjoy your "studio" - I certainly enjoy mine - especially the fact I can close the door and not have to pick up my sewing every single time.

Fluff - Hope your week picks up, it's tough when you don't enjoy your work.

Cottage - sounds like you had a great birthday (and paid for the indulgence)
Have a great and sunny Monday.

Lexiss - I sooo jealous you get to go to the pool - our closest one that's open is 20 miles away.

Butterfly - Good luck with the job hunt.

Hope you all have a wonderful and OP day.

Linda

Good morning,
I hate being sick with the weather is so nice outside and there is still so much to do to prepare the garden for winter.
I am going to see the dr. at 4. just fed up of sleeping sitting up because as soon as I lie down its cough, cough, cough. I have been drinking so many liquids.
Not OP just sort of grazing on things but hopefully tomorrow will be better.
take care

Good morning, everyone! Long time no see! I need to be a good girl and get back on track and back to chatting here. You are all such positive motivators (moaning Monday comments notwithstanding )! I really miss checking in with all of you.

Nothing too huge has happened lately. DH and I are still actively trying to procreate and I go see the doctor next week for a referral to a fertility specialist. If we're told we aren't likely to conceive without intervention we've decided that we will begin the adoption process right away. I've already been in contact with a few agencies as well as a family atty. DH and I just feel that adoption is most likely our future and we want to start on that asap if that is the case.

Other than that, I've been a backsliding heathen since our vacation in September and I really, really need to get to work. I've decided that workouts will be in the morning through the winter and I did my first am sweat session this morning.

I hope I can catch up with everyone soon! It's nice to see some new faces and some familiar ones. I hope everyone is doing well other than having Monday blahs!

Kim - There is a great book called Taking Charge of your Fertility that is wonderful for help you to conceive. I did have to use Clomid to get pregnant with Brian but the book helped an awful lot with determining when I was ovulating and lots of other stuff. You have my prayers.

We spent Saturday at Webelos Woods. My throat was sore after teaching drama 21 times but it was so much fun. Brian worked at the climbing tower and we stayed until after the campfire since the boys were performing the skits I had worked with them on all day. We probably should have brought tents and stayed over. I was way too sleepy driving home but we made it okay.

Today is a school holiday so Brian has his friends over.

Hello everyone,

We got back last night from Branson had a wonderful time, the weather and scenary were gorgeous. I was not op the entire weekend, so I am doing Phase 1 for this week to get back on track.

Kim so glad to see you back, you and DH will be in my prayers.

As anyone heard from Chelby lately? She has been MIA.

Have a great evening everyone.

All settled in after our brisk drive. Dinner is ready to go in the oven and DH is in his shop working.

Waquilter, I've been meaning to say how impressed I am with your exercise minutes. You sure are helping keep me motivated!

Kierie, good job on your smart food choices. It's seeming much easier to make those good choices (even when not OP) then to pay later :treadmill: Hoe you're less busy tomorrow.

Sophie, I hope the doctor gave you something for getting better. If I lived closer I'd make you some soup and come over and knit.

KimStar, glad to see you back. I'm trying to remember where you went on vacation. Best wishes with your desire to add a little member to your family. The right thing will happen. Blessings!

Barb, sounds like a fun weekend. When I read your post I thought how fortunate Brian is to have a Mom who is so involved and how blessed you are to have a Son who's interested!

Pearlrose, glad you had a great trip. My Nephew is in Springfield and some day I'll come visit. I looked at all the shows once trying to decide who I'd go see.

Cottage, I always forget you asked about the OP Pumpkin Pie. It was great! The best part was I had some filling left and I put it in 2 individual ramekins to take on our picnic last week. They were actually the best-they looked so cute and didn't even need the crust!

Oh Debbie, that is too sweet. I have bronchitis and and sinus infection. She will see me again on Thursday afternoon to see if the antibiotics are helping. It sure would be fun to sit and knit with you. We could talk about knitting for quite a while and the soup would be delicious. I have 6 quarts of frozen stock for soup but DH just doesn't know what to do with it. Also, congratulations on your great achievement of sticking with SB for 6 months, you are such an asset here.
I'm going to take my meds now and hope they knock me out for a while because I haven't had a good sleep in a week.
take care
