Cool Whaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

I CAN'T WAIT FOR SCHOOL TO START!

Okay - that said, just wanted to pop in and say "hi." I haven't forgotten about y'all. Things are busy ('magine that!) around here. And, my sweet boy has turned into child right now. He's got that Jurassic Park sounding scream (remember the sound that the velociraptors make?? He imitates it PERFECTLY!!).

I won't ruin your evening with more "crap" just know that I'm still alive (I think - pinch - ouch, yup I am). I'll try to be back later!

Love to all!

And welcome CD - everyone here is a super group of gals!

Hmmm how VERY interesting ... funny, from its inception in the late 1950s / early 1960s, until they came up with the first "points" plan in the very late 1980s or early 1990s, this is EXACTLY how Weight Watchers worked. It's called the exchanges, and it is based on the system developed by the American Diabetic Association. It is how Jenny Craig (my current plan) still works. I had done WW twice in the '80s, and I was disappointed when they developed the points. I think exchanges are easier, and it's certainly easier to develop a balanced diet with exchanges.

So, if that is indeed what WW is moving back to, it's about time.

I'm sure that's what they're thinking...we can get the folks back who are used to the old ways, while still making the 'points counters' happy. Smart move on their part! $$$ Cha-CHING! $$$ I love the points system, but I don't go to the meetings. I can follow at home, still have all my books and my points calculator. I'll stay accountable right here with you girls. Which reminds me, I haven't posted at the WI (not Wisconsin) thread yet! Havent' had much time lately. I do have to jump into bed now, but I wanted to WELCOME CD to our merry little group! Just jump right in...if you have any questions just ask...we're nice.

Gotta run...love to all!

Smile Howdy !!!

Hello everyone. I just got back from checking out our picture page.
I have missed a lot of new ones. If you haven't looked lately you may want to. I almost forgot the Michelle and Andria had their photos there. I just LOVED looking at them again.

Scooter.. are you still around ?? I hope you get to hike that trail.

CD ... WELCOME !!!! No need to lurk. Just jump right in and learn as you go. Feel free to ask any questions you don't know. We ALL were new at one point or another so we probably have asked the same questions ourselves. LOL I have two daughters in college. I know how hard it can be following a plan while in college ... but it can be done... and you can do it.

Skittle ... nice pic of you and DH. Does Syd and Muffin leave your rats alone?? Did I miss their names ???

Terri.... COOL HORSES. My memory is bad... but did I show you or tell you about the 100"s of wild horses we have here from Arizonia ?? They are BEAUTIFUL !!! They were starving to death from over population.. so this family opened up their land to move them here. They will get to live their lives out here. It is really cool. You can watch them from the road. I think you can buy them CHEAP ... but they are wild.

Shelly Bear... you posted a lovely photo... but you are not posting much.
Why don't you join back in.

BarbPA... what a lovely photo of your wedding renewal in Vegas.
It is cool that you married in a chapel and renewed in a chapel.

Thin... take care of those knees. I know all too well about the pain you are speaking of. Learn from this NOT to schedule 14 jobs in one day again.

Lisa... how well I remember those days of little kids at home.
I LOVED my kids and enjoyed them... but ...
I am enjoying them being gone too.

Funniergil.... Hope you drop by more often. We would love to get to know you.

Well... I got my exercise in.. but it was short and now aggressive.
I was babysitting at the same time and just could not do it justice with the kids there. I did not drink my water... and although I ate on program... I felt deprived today. It was not one of my best days... but it was not a bad day either.

I helped a friend get ready for a garage sale. I didn't help much ... she had it mostly done. We did have a nice lunch together and then went to Walmart where they have marked their bathing suits down from $29... to $19.. and now to $11. I bought several to last me through the winter too.
I am NOT giving up swimming this winter. It has helped my knees to much to regress backwards. I AM going to change pools though. It will cost me a little more... but I am MUCH MORE comfortable at the other pool. The pool I tried to swim at last winter was just too ..... visible. I had to walk across a HUGE parking lot... and then in front of all the skinny people on treamillls and bicycles. They are facing the longggggggggg hall I had to walk down to get to the pool area. That pool is new and fancy and nice once in the water... but the other pool is OLD and only old people go there and I feel much more comfortable. They are both 13 miles from my house... just in opposite directions. lol

Okay.. Tuesday Tip.
DON'T Cheat !!! It really is NOT worth it.

Default correction...

Some of us are nice!

no, really...We're ALL nice...

except Thin, of course

I'm kidding, she's probably the NICEST, which is why she's our fearless moderator.

All hail Thin!

Morning All,
Just a quick not before I am off to get ready for work. I rode the bike for only 8 minutes last night as I started having a pain in my leg that did not feel good. I ate a good lunch and I didn't have much of an appetite yesterday so I had to force myself to eat. But today is a new day and I remember my goals for the week so I must get on it.

CD, welcome to the group, I am a newbie too, and the best way is to just jump in. Everyone here is nice and friendly, and funny. I still haven't gotten the hang of everything but I am working on it.

2cute, Syd and Muffin pretty much leave the rats (Hoody and Patches) alone. When they are in their cage Syd likes to go over and put her nose and paw up there, but Patches nips at her. Muffin doesn't mess with them because she got bit. When they are out and about the rats go right up to the cats and the cats just look at them, sniff and don't care. Muffin doesn't like being touched by them now, and Syd backs away until they turn around then she bats at their tails, the big chicken.

I also understand your feelings on the pool situation. At my gym the pool is right by the entrance with a big glass wall, so everyone that walks in can see you. I was really nervous about it at first, But I say, I will not be embarrassed by who I am or how stupid I look doing it. They don't know me, they don't know my situation, and if they want to laugh let em. Cause if they're laughing at me, then maybe they are leaving someone else alone.

Well that's all I got this morning, maybe I can ride the bike a little this morning.
Have a happy hump day.
skit (going her first day without coke) Oh Lord help me.

Hi ladies!

Thin. Nice. Just don't cross her. She's a no crap kind of gal.

We love her immensely all the same.

Isn't it "Pick on Thin" day?

Welcome CD! Great pics. You're are such a cutie! Good luck with this journey and with school. We're not all a bunch of old broads.

Skit, be careful you're not doing too much too soon. I hope you make it through the day with too much withdrawal effects!

2Cute - I would love to have land and have a horse rescue kind of place. Maybe when I retire. Are you still coming up in September for the wedding?

I'm out of time this morning. to all! Have a great day!

Hey, where's Kit?

Skittles, I hear you about the glass wall by the pool. Our therapy pool is seperated from the WEIGHT ROOM by a big glass wall. Some of the "weight lifters" will watch the water classes and "smirk" like they are really exercising while those of us in the pool are just playing, but it has no effect at all on the water classes. We just do our thing and don't even realize the glass is there. (Just ask some of the trainers about the "old" man who was sitting in the pool area waiting for his wife and realized his bathing suit was on backwards. He looked around and made sure he was alone in the pool area and proceeded to pull his suit off and rearange it. Everyone in the weight room cracked up, and no one told him that he had put on an entertainment show for the weight lifters )

Weigh-in Wednesday I'[B]m down 3/4 of a pound for the 2 pound challange, but 3/4 a pound lost is better than 1/4 a pound gained.

Did my Oxycise Level 2 last night. I sure have slept good these nights, must be all the deep breathing. My Mom is working and my sister called and said she couldn't walk this morning, so it's just water areobics for me today. Speaking of which I'd better get a move on, and leave.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks for all the wonderful welcomes everyone! You seem like a great bunch!

I'm in another awesome mood (seriously, you may notice all the smiles and !!!! in my posts :P those aren't common for me usually), I think I really am going to change my life now.

I went to my first therapy session this morning - though I was very very honest, I had a hard time talking about my weight. I said that I was trying to change it but I didn't say how depressed its made me and how dellusional I am about it. I may try to talk about this next session, odd how talking about something so physically obvious is so hard for me - yet I could tell her about my past drug/alcohol/physical abuse problems.

But I did tons of walking today too I was going to try walking home (about 2 miles) but I figured that I should try to get used to walking average amounts first all over campus. I didn't take any elevators either even though I was horribly tempted!

I have career counseling in bit.. then my night is jam packed! My friend is making me go to this Christian club BBQ which I don't really want to do (not a fan of bbqs, hotdogs/hamburgers/soda - oh no!) .. but I figure the socializing is good. Then I have a night class, then he's making me go to another activity on campus. I really think socialization will help me with my weight because it usually requires you to walk around and get out more. So wish me luck with not being Too shy (though its hard when youre not a christian and going to a christian club!) and have a little fun Maybe I'll buy a salad and smoothie before I head over to the bbq.

It sounds like everyone is doing well Good luck with the no coke Skittles! I vowed off soda long time ago when I had bad heartburn, and it does make sooo much of a difference. After a while of no soda - when you drink it you'll most likely Not want it because you die from how much carbonation is in it ;p Good luck to everyone else as well and have great evenings!

Hmm... all HAIL THIN .... okay...
HAIL to our Thin !!!

Skittles.. when we had both a cat and dog they loved to play wrestle all the time. Sounds like you have plenty of entertainment with your combo.

Terri... I would love to have a rescue ranch too. They are soooo beautiful.
Yes.. we are still coming in Sept. I don't know if we are coming early or not.
The wedding isn't until 2pm so we could drive there and back the same day if we really wanted to. I doubt if that is what we will do. I am sure my hubby will want to go the casinos there too. I will let you know when I know. The wedding is Sept 18th so you have a general idea when it will be. LOL

Barbg... that is soooo funny about the husband "rearranging his suit".
Way to go on your oxycise. I am sure that is one reason you are sleeping better.
Congrats on your loss too. Any loss is better than a gain.

CD... when you go to counseling take some notes with you. Then tell you counselor you have them. That way she will ask you about them and you won't feel so ackward bringing them up.
As for tonight... HAVE FUN !!!! It doesn't matter if it is a Christian group or a sports group or any kind of group. You all have one common denominator.... you're young college students wanting to make new friends. GO FOR IT !!!

Okay... gotta go. just peeking in for a minute. TONS of work is waiting for me.
