Lane Brynt is of course the BEST, but WAY OVER my budget right now. I have lived in the same Old Navy T's and Yoga pants for two years. I am trying very hard to get a job and will need new clothes right away...
I also don't really want to spend a lot on clothes because I will hopefully only be in them for a short time...
I like Ross for the in between or disposable clothes ... For Interviews LB Black slacks are great with a nice top they wear really well and will work for quite a weight range.
I LOVE Fashion Bug and Lane Bryant. Fashion Bug is better for me because I'm broke and they have huge sales, great clearance deals, and they mail out tons of coupons. They also have up to size 30 in their stores, and it's not all old lady clothes like you'd run into in the plus-size section at WalMart or KMart.
Sometimes I find stuff I really love at Kohl's, but it's really hit or miss (right now, it's "hit" for me).
The last time I shopped at Avenue was about 5 years ago, and I thought their jeans were really frumpy looking, but it's been a while and I've been hearing great things lately.
Old Navy for tops, though I'm not fond of their jeans. They never seem to stay on me. In my experience, they seem to have the roomiest sizes for the number. I might just be a weird shape, though; who knows? Yeah, it's online shopping; I got a feel for their sizing pretty quickly, though.
I also tend to buy a lot of t-shirts from places like Hot Topic, which means I'm just buying the ones for guys. They have plus-sized women's clothing, but not nearly as much as I'd like. They do have lots of music tees, though, and that's what I get.
Fashion Bug and Lane Bryant are great for jeans. I live near a LB outlet, and they have a pretty good selection for the price. For shirts, though. . .well, I've said before that Fashion Bug looks like someone went through it with a BeadDazzler and nothing to lose. Sometimes I'll find a single top that isn't so bad; most of the time, it's stuff that doesn't fit my personal style.
For interviews, hit up either Fashion Bug or Old Navy. DEB goes up to 24, but I can't remember what their prices are like, as I've not been there in seven years. Lane Bryant is kind of spendy for my taste, too.
Hmmm, we have an Avenue and a LB. But I have never been to a Fashion Bug. I will have to take a look online.
ROSS is my most favorite store in the world!! Can really get good deals there, but it is always a hit or miss...
I really wish my Kohls had more to choose from. I like their clothes, but the plus size section is soooo small!! They have 1 rack with cuties stuff and them 4 with grandma styles...
For the interviews I am going to wear a nice pair of Chocolate Brown Slacks and a Green and Brown Blouse.
I can't wait till I get back into 18s...I have tons of that in my closet and then 16s as well...I am in a 22 now and have nothing, seems like when I was gaining the weight I went right from 18/20 to 24/26...
For shirts, though. . .well, I've said before that Fashion Bug looks like someone went through it with a BeadDazzler and nothing to lose. Sometimes I'll find a single top that isn't so bad; most of the time, it's stuff that doesn't fit my personal style.
I LOVE Fashion Bug but also have this problem sometimes - I'm not an old lady and not a girly girl, so I have issues with sequins and s*it... however, I find that if you stay in the FRONT end of the plus-size section, it's the younger, less sequin-ish/bedazzled section.
Also, FB has great "secret slimmer" jeans - I don't get them because I have a false sense of slimness in them; I get them because they seem to be the only jeans I can find that aren't crazy-cut "wide leg" or "skinny" jeans (am I the only one who hates when non-skinny people wear those?!). They're just normal relaxed-fit slightlybootcut jeans, and the legs aren't way long, either. I don't claim to have skinny legs, but most of my issue is belly! Fashion Bug's jeans rock for me - good deal.
Cato's is another store that has fantastic prices (most tops and bottoms are $20 each) and their clearance is always unbelievable. Half the store is plus-sized and at least 3 racks of clearance all the time.
I like Lane Bryant for jeans, and some tops. (As mentioned a bajillion times, that's also where I get all my underthings.)
Then there's also Fashion Bug (and I always avoid the bedazzled clothing They also love butterflies... a lot. Not that there's anything wrong with an occasional butterfly, but these people really like butterflies on shirts.)
I also like Torrid, but they're a little more like a hot topic for fat chicks. They still have some cute things that are a little more bohemian.
