Thumbs down First setback... Kinda upset... Moving on

I had a very turbulent & stressfull day. Busy busy busy. I ate so terribly that I won't even input my calorie count into sparkpeople to find out how much I ate. Ugh, leftover birthday cake is horrible. I have to learn to give everyone one piece and get the sucker out of the house as soon as possible. I even freecycled holiday pies on the 26th. I have been on-plan every day since the 28th of dec and today was my first setback.

But I have to learn that ONE day won't destroy the 12 days that I've made it so far. I guess I'll just gulp down the water and hit the gym.

Ho boy... I think I just need hugs & Lots of mojo at this point

*gives a hug* I think you are doing GREAT! Twelve whole days in a row where you stayed on track? That's really something to be proud of! One little day won't (and couldn't!) undo all the good you've done in the last 12 days!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have been doing well - but in the past I would have turned one bad day of eating into a bad WEEK, and eventually MONTH of eating and put back on all the weight and then some. Learning to pick myself up and start fresh again is what I need to learn.

Don't stress. Just call it a "free day" and get back on track tomorrow.

I had a bad eating day today, too. It started with a sandwich that I underestimated the calories on, continued with some muffins that were only okay, and moved onto extra snacks... finishing with chocolate.

Let's BOTH get back on track tomorrow!!!

Really? Really??? That is just about the most brilliant thing I ever read. Wow! I am making a mental note of that for future reference!!!

You're all right. It's all about consistency and getting back on the wagon that threw you (or something like that).

*hugs and encouragement*

I have noticed that the people who successfully lose their weight and keep it off on this site, just forgive themselves for a bad day and just move on.

You might consider entering the bad food day into your calorie calculator. Sometimes it is not as bad as we fear and it is a way to own your choices and move on.

The most important thing is to get right back on program. Don't punish yourself or try to skip any meals to make up. Just make your very next choice a good choice and get right back to it.
