Talking Can another Newbie Squish in?

What an awesome forum! I am so impressed!

I am divorced mom of a teenage son who just got out of a 3 year relationship where i was REALLY REALLY stupid and let that person dictate our diet. Big mistake! I gained almost 60 pounds in 3 years! Now I am tryin to get it off again. I am working hard and i am down to my last 19 pounds but boy the hard rind is the hardest! Yours is the first ACTIVE forum that does more than talk about which fad diets work and what pills to take. I am on a 1200 calorie per day diet (while i am dieting) that will change to probably more like 2000 calories a day when i am done losing. I am working out 3 to 5 times a week on my treadmill and have lost 36 and counting pounds.

Can't wait to read more and get to know everyone!

HELLO FROM NEBRASKA!!!!

once you have 30 posts you'll be able to add tickers to your siggie! I'm the same way, I log everything.....I'm all about the numbers in everything I do, not just working out and eating right! LOL

OMG yes me too,,, i read somewhere,, you need to record every BLT Bite, Lick & taste because without doing so most of us UNDERESTIMATE how much we are eating then we wonder why we aren't losing!

Hi Angela!

There's always room for someone else to listen and who really understands just how hard it is losing weight!

I'm a 35year old mom of 2 daughters ages 7 and 5. I'm married to my hubby of 10 years. I've got a REALLY bad back and blame my health issues for some of my troubles with gaining my weight and the troubles I have with losing it, but, I'm here and I'm trying (ask my thighs - they are totally burning from aqua jog today~)

I'm a newbie too (since the beginning of January).

Looking forward to getting to know you better and a big CONGRATS on the weight you've already lost!

Thank you WOW aqua jog that sounds fun~ I am just not a joiner plus i just hate to drive! So i have my treadmill and my dumbbells and I have a nortic track like thing. It gets confusing how much of what to do. Everyone seems to have their own opinion on what works and why it works.

Angela,

Welcome to the club. We are always glad to support another member. I have found this group to be the greatest support. Plus, we seem to be able to throw other things than just our weight loss out there and get support. I have gotton answers on my kids, my cats, and my husband. Anything that can be a stressor and contribute negatively on the goal that we have set for ourselves. So if anything is ever bothering you or you have a question just throw it out there. It is better to talk about it then to bottle it up or to deal with it by eating. Also make sure to stop by our daily chats. Talk to you soon.

Dawn

In terms of what works, etc., I think it's different for each person. As my yoga lady says, everybody's body is different, and even if you have two people who have been studying the same yoga pose for years, they will each do it differently -- and it's ok! As long as you're getting a good mix of cardio and weight training, you're going to be in good shape
