Just wanted to pop in and say howdy to you all! I love catching up with how everyone's day was. I'm just now able to log on as I was on here 'til the wee hours of the morning.
My day went very well. Tying up the loose ends before we take off. I just got back from a medi/pedi/eyebrows in my favorite massage chair at the salon. I feel like I've just about reached nirvana. Well, at least until the natives become restless for food, attention, etc.
I'm sure I'll be on and off throughout the rest of the day and night. I have to wake up at the butt-crack of dawn to register for the priority seating.
Anyway, glad you all had a Tantalizing Tuesday and may you have a Wacky Wednesday.

(My office is in an extension of the county, so it's right across the street from the main courthouse.) I have a feeling I'll be there all day and maybe even tomorrow. The best thing I could think to pack were almonds since they don't need refrigeration. I did throw some chopped veggies in the office fridge so that if we get a recess I can run in and grab them.

Okay! Off to check the in-box before I get swamped with papers!

ETA: Free at last, free at last!! I got out of jury duty. Although, I was kind of hoping to be selected, just to be a bigger part of the process. I was eliminated by virtue of the side of the room I was sitting on. A much higher proportion of the people on my side of the room were friends/coworkers/babysitters/cousins/customers and etc. of either one or both of the two parties, so the lawyers all but exempted our side from serving. (Ah, the joys of small-town living.) Only one of the 12 were picked from our side of the room. Okay. I'd better get back to work!
I'm scheduled to go for jury duty in August. I hope I'm not selected because there's 1000 of other things I need to do. I've postponed so many times it's ridiculous. One week I actually called in every day but didn't have to show up. For that Thursday, I forgot to call in the night before. As luck would have it, I was supposed to show up at 8:30am. I didn't check until 9:30am and was already obligated to do something with my daughter. I called frantic that the jury duty police would show up at my door but the clerk set up my August date, the week of my freakin' BDAY at that. I'm pretty sure they'll send me packing anyway due to "childcare obligations".

I have never, ever heard anyone else use that expression. And I thought I was being original

Schmoodle, I don't know of anything other than the mall in Huntsville. I can help if you go to Bham. If you go to jazzercise.com, chose 'find a class', type in Oneonta, AL. There is a 'view map' option that will take you to mapquest. Our class meets MTF at 6 p.m. If you can come, I'll take you to dinner! Tina is an hour the other direction.

My day in court was very interesting. It was my first experience in a courtroom. It was NOT like Law & Order. It was more like My Cousin Vinny Our girl was AMAZING! I've decided that defense attorneys must take a course called 'circuitous rhetoric'. Man, he talked in circles! The trial should be over tomorrow.

Yesterday I got in a two hour bike ride at the gym after doing weights. Then I came back with Don and his neighbor to soak in the hot tub until they closed. Today has been spent running errands to get ready for the cruise. I did tell Robert and Brian I was leaving and Robert was okay with it and didn't even ask me who I was going with. I suspect he guessed though but maybe he realizes it isn't any of his business.

The only bad thing today is we had an all employee broadcast where they said that they are evaluating everyone's jobcodes and salary. If your salary is outside the range of your new job code you get a pay cut. I probably won't know for another few weeks. I already dealt with one 5% paycut this year so far so I sure hope I don't get cut too deep but after 24 years with the company I am really afraid I'm going to face a huge paycut. There's nothing I can do until I am told though but I probably wouldn't have gone on the cruise if I'd known about this.

I have quite a few expressions that surprise me sometimes.
