Advertising and marketing are such a huge business, with a lot of psychology and manipulation in play. It's tough to be a critical thinker - to analyze what's being sold and how they're going about doing it. It helps me to remember that the number one purpose of these ads is to generate more revenue for some rich executive - it has absolutely nothing to do with improving my life, health, or happiness. I may be a bit of a conspiracy theorist, but it's pretty clear that there are a whole lot more forces trying to keep us fat, dumb and sick than there are promoting health and well-being.
