Friday:
B - muesli, milk
S - apple
L - lean cuisine chicken scaloppini and lasagna
S - yogurt
D - leftover tofu chili & tortilla
Total - 1138, which means I'll end up eating something else too
Exercise - probably won't get any today, since I slept in too late to do a run this morning and have shopping to do tonight.

Good morning ladies!!

I had a fabulous holiday breakfast with my midwives and OBs.....I'm very proud of my choices. The spread was amazing but I stuck to principles---protein, fruit, 25 grams of carb serving (approx).

breakfast:
slice of Canadian bacon, square of crustless green chile quiche (made by yours truly and proteinified with cottage cheese!), berries, 1/4 bagel with 2 tsp cream cheese and some smoked salmon, and a small cranberry orange muffin. Could have been a lot worse!
snack: cottage cheese & fruit
lunch: turkey sandwich
snack: cottage cheese & fruit
dinner: leftover turkey chili and steamed veggies

exercise: 1 hr with trainer for sure, contemplating a short run this am. Must get shopping done today.

Good morning everyone!

Midwife - your breakfast sounds great! Sounds like you made some good choices!

I made it OP yesterday after all, and managed to resist the cookie ice cream sandwich. I did have a piece of candy when I got home from work - a mini taffy bar, 32 calories. The weird part was I didn't want it at all, I just felt like I had to have it. As I stood there eating it I asked myself why I was doing that. I got pretty good about resisting that kind of thing during the main calorie restricting part of the diet, I've been struggling with it the last few weeks. I went a little crazy the few days around Halloween, pulled it back in, back a little crazy around Thanksgiving. Haven't been able to pull it back in as tightly since then... So far it hasn't thrown me out of calorie range, but I had a couple of days where I ate 15% or my calories in sugary junk and felt miserable afterwards. you would think I would learn from that, but no!

Plan for Friday:
Exercise - most likely my off day, might try to do some yoga tonight to stretch my arms and legs. They are still pretty stiff from the two days of resistance training I did this week - I might have overdone it a little in my attempt to get back into a routine

B: Peanut butter and banana smoothie, Cinnamon Pastry flavored coffee with 1tsp raw sugar & 1tbsp gingerbread creamer
S: broccoli florets & light string cheese
L: grilled chicken sandwich no mayo
S: navel orange
S: Kashi Go Lean
D: controlled serving of pasta with red sauce I think, may throw in broccoli (bought a 4lb bag of it this week, have eaten it with pretty much every meal) or frozen harvest blend veggies
S: Chocolate milk with protein powder, kashi dark chocolate oatmeal cookie
That brings me to 1797, so if I can stick to it without the candy I'm right on target....

Morning, all.

I dove headfirst last night into several homemade biscotti. I'm sure the calories weren't enough to account for the 4 lbs I put on OVERNIGHT (my body is supersupersuper sugar sensitive...you'd think I'd learn). But they are packed up and on their way to Sarah's work, so I'm moving on. The sugar-water-weight will hopefully be gone by tomorrow. I need to learn to eat something healthy when dinner gets delayed as it did last night so I don't get into that over-hungry-sugar-spiral.

B - English muffin pizza
S - Asian Pear
L - Leftovers - Chicken stirfry, lots of veggies, brown and wild rice
S - Popcorn
S - Weight Control Oatmeal
D - Grilled chicken breast, couscous, broccoli
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar

60 min on the elliptical

Amanda, the same thing happens to me when I eat too much sugar - 2-4 pounds of water weight the next day and then I find myself craving it for days... I see NSA Ice Cream Bar as your evening snack a lot - what brand do you get? I'm looking for ice cream snacks I can keep in the house for DH that he can eat when he craves ice cream instead of driving to Sonic...

I don't deal with the cravings as much, but the water weight kills me.

If the sugar-free appeals to you, I get the Breyer's Vanilla Almond sugar free bars. They're good, 150 calories or so, and sweetened with Splenda.

If you're not as worried about the sugar, I find that the BEST tasting low-cal ice cream confection out there, also 150 calories, is the Skinny Cow Cone. It's like a drumstick (with the nugget of chocolate in the cone bottom and all) but low cal and with lowfat ice cream. They're really, really satisfying.

I LOVE that part! I haven't had one in forever, but when I was eating them (which wasn't very often even before), every once in a while I'd have one without that little nugget. Talk about disappointment

I love the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches, but haven't tried the cones. I'll have to give those a try... I have a hard time with Splenda, but DH does fine with it and loves vanilla. Might have to grab those Breyer's bars too.. Thanks!

Well, today has been OP calorie wise, but they have been made up of some junk...

Exercise: 35 minutes strength training on Weider, 35 minutes kickboxing, 10 minutes calisthenics

B/S/L: 3 FF blueberry muffins, 5 slices of turkey bacon, 2 turkey sausage patties, 2 slices wheat toast, 10 oz. V8, coffee with 1 tbsp peppermint mocha creamer (DH brought home stuff for the two of us to make brunch this morning since we have an extra night with stepson over tonight so no 'real' weekend) - calorie wise this was about the same as my normal breakfast smoothie + snack + lunch
S: ANOTHER STUPID MUFFIN... the last two are going in the trash when I go downstairs, I swear..., 4 Giant Chewy Nerds
D: Chick Fil-A Chargrilled & Fruit Salad with both servings of Berry Balsamic Dressing in the packet, ate the granola & the sunflower seeds, 4 of DSS french fries, 1 Dove Milk Chocolate with Almond Square
S: plan on Kashi Go Lean

Even with the crud I'll still come in at 1757, but I feel all kinds of icky... Maybe this will break by junk and sugar and candy spree I've been on the last three weeks...
