Hi all, thanks for all the kind words, sorry I was so babbly this morning - it was just so on my mind!

I am definitely not going to beat myself up for all the cashews, but I have to remind myself that "sad calories count too!"

Glory, have you gotten any updates on your stepdad?

POP yesterday. This weekend is the performance of the play I've been working backstage for. On the one hand, keeping busy always helps me stay OP. OTOH, I'm organizing/prepping for the cast party that will be after the Sunday matinee. I'm going to sneak in a few healthier options (light mayo in the deviled eggs, light cream cheese in the dip, big veggie platter) more for my sake, but it's all recipes I've tried at parties before and no one realized they were lightened. I've just got to watch the BLTs and portions! I can't believe Thanksgiving is already next week!

Friday's plan:
B - protein pancake w/ 1 T. low sugar peach butter, 1 c. skim milk, coffee w/ 1 T. h&h
S - small banana
L - 1/2 oat bran pita bread w/ ~1/3 c. black beans, 2.5 oz bs chicken breast, salsa, lettuce, 2 cups raw veggies, 2 Tbsp. light sour cream w/ ranch seasonings
S - 6 oz. ff yogurt, 1/2 oz. raw sunflower seeds, apple if needed
gym - elliptical and shoulders
D - big salad w/ 1 1/2 oz. steak and light dressing, protein muffin
opening night!
S - 1 oz. string cheese, maybe 1 other thing (fruit or beef jerky?)
Plan for day: 1500-1600 cals

Hi Megan, I did get an update. The results of the neurological scan are inconclusive. He does have some brain activity and his pupils are reactive (which both sound good to me). They still don't know how he really is - will he ever wake up, did he suffer any brain damage. My mom says we can have a spark of hope now, but the first 3 days are very critical (today is day 3). I talked to my mom yesterday morning, but she didn't pick up when I called last night. I'm hoping maybe she went out to dinner or maybe fell asleep early (there's a 2 hour time difference from here to Texas).

Hi all, thanks again for all your kind words. My mom called me soon after I made my last post on Friday morning and Tom had taken a turn for the worse during the night. I got on a plane to San Antonio and got here around midnight last night. Tom passed away this morning - so I was so glad I made it in time. I will probably not be around online much the next week or so, there is a ton of family at mom's house and we're all visiting and socializing (such a sad reason for us all to be together, but there's just as much laughter as tears).

If you have good thoughts, please send them to my mother, Ann!
