My confession is that I have been eating some wrong foods this last week. I have lost 0 weight in the last seven days. Eight days ago I had a 2500 calorie day! I blamed it on my TOM but I think in reality it was my food intake.

Happy Halloween. I for one, will be sticking to my lowfat kettle corn and keeping my hands out of the chocolate.

I am having a huge struggle with "all or nothing" thinking - its a particular problem of my body and I'm so frustrated. If I eat ANYTHING refined - ANYTHING - I retain about a gazillion (ok, 3-4) lbs or water. That applies whether I use moderation and keep my calories in check or not. So the effect on the scale the next day (and quiet, you smarties, about how the next day isn't the end all be all...I'm AWARE, but my brain appears to be lagging) is the same. Meaning I start thinking things like "Amanda, you already had a brownie and your scale is going to be SCREWED tomorrow - its on, now". Soooo destructive.

Can you tell Halloween baking yesterday did not go well?

Moving on, today is screwed up due to family fondue night. Tried to get them to let me cook so we could do broth-based shabu-shabu. No - oil all the way. Also cheese and chocolate. And wine. And I want to see my family, but I don't really want all that junk, especially considering yesterday's sugar situation. I don't know what I'm going to do at this point - probably just try to eat very little.

B - English muffin, cheese, pizza sauce, ham
S - Apple
L - Leftover stirfry
S - Popcorn
S - Greek yogurt
D - Fondue madness.

E - 75 min strength
55 min elliptical

This week has been alright...stayed mostly on plan, with a few bumps along the lines of candy corn and fun size Milky Way bars. Tonight may be iffy...handing out Halloween candy will help keep my hands out of it, as long as the flow of kids is steady. But the mother-in-law is making potato soup, and I don't know how she makes it...so I'm going to just try to be careful and not eat TOO much.

I hate when other people cook...no control!!!

Yesterday was exactly as planned - yay! Allison, the seared scallops were great! I ended up making couscous to go with them, along with squash.

B - oatmeal w/1% milk, raisins, walnuts; 1/2 Squirrel bagel w/lf cream cheese
S - 1 small choc chip cookie
L - salad (depends on which restaurant we choose what kind it is)
S - apple
D - leftover pork, couscous, cauliflower

We will not be home tonight, but we seldom have any kids anyway (the joy of living too far out of town on a short street with no little kids) but we are going to a party. I intend to stay far away from the snack table unless there's fruit.....

Morning - well, the party had tons and tons of sweets. I strayed into the nuts - someone brough just cashews - no high-grading necessary. It was a dangerous area of the room to be so I tried mostly to be somewhere else.

B - homemade scone (DH was baking before I got up), 1 poached egg,
L - probably veg soup
D - I'm perusing the freezer before I go to the store. We haven't had salmon for awhile, so that'll likely be the main course.
