I really should grow strawberries, I love them so! I wanted to check in on this though because I got strawberries this week from my CSA and they are some of the best strawberries I've ever had. Nothing beats organic, fresh strawberries

Nelie - I agree! We are getting strawberries here (have been for about a month) at our farmer's markets, and MAN, they're incredible. Just compare the inside of a ripe, local, organic berry to the inside of a huge, conventionally grown supermarket berry. The supermarket berries have so much WHITE inside, and the locals are just solid red, all the way through.

I love this time of year. I get so spoiled.

i LOVE strawberries! but i hardly ever crave fruit in general!

I bought strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries when I went grocery shopping last night. I am quite sure I'm either going to have to freeze some of it or force myself to eat them - even eating them in my plan I don't think I'll be able to eat them all before they spoil.

Anyone have any good ideas for eating strawberries other than just by themselves as a snack? Would a smoothie with strawberries in the morning along with my yogurt and string cheese be better than a cup of coffee?

Any other ideas?

Also, worried about the more fruit I eat, the more sugar I might crave. What do you think?

Personally, I wouldn't 'waste' fresh strawberries on a smoothie, I do use mass amounts of frozen strawberries in smoothies though. You could do it though

You could also mix cut strawberries into your yogurt.

Also, I've never found natural sugars in fruit make me crave sugar. I eat a lot of fruit but it is a different feeling than if you are eating sugary unnatural stuff.

I love strawberry season! I eat them with my nonfat lite yogurt, topped with some fiber one cereal for some extra crunch. Another fabulous treat is to toast a low fat whole grain waffle, top with fresh berries and a sprinkle of Splenda, then drizzle on some sugar free pancake syrup. Yum!

I love strawberries - I like them in smoothies, in salads and I have been making fruit salsa lately and have been putting them in the salsa - very very yummy!

I have not been eating pancakes lately - but I used to love putting them on there. I have a girlfriend who puts them on her oatmeal.

I love strawberries! I'll cut them up and take them to work. Sometimes I'l eat them with a tub of YoPlus vanilla yogurt, which tastes a lot like pudding. The combination is the most fantastic, filling desert.
