Tink- I am on Omnipod also and absolutely love it. I have been on it for almost 5 years and could never go back to a pump with tubes. Was on a Minimed for around 5 years and while it worked well it cannot compare to the Omnipod.
I went on CGM about 6 months ago and it is the best thing ever! I chose the Navigator and have been very happy with it. I used the first generation of the Dex a while ago but it still had a lot of bugs and I gave up on it pretty quickly. I have heard that the newer generations are so much better.
I have had type 1 since March of 99. My AIC's have never gone above high 7's but now that my husband and I have decided to try starting a family in the next year or so I need to get my AIC's down. The doctors want like a 6.5. I am also trying to lose weight. I went from almost no lows a week to 2-3 a day right now. It is getting better but with the drastic change in eating habits I need to tweak my basal rates.
Also, is anyone using Symlin? I had asked in another thread but did not get many responses. I have been using it on and off for a few years now. Trying to be really good now and use it all the time but it still makes me sick sometimes (especially in the morning). I have had luck with it when I stick to it. My BS has not gone above 210 since using it this time around and my daily insulin rates have gone from around 130 units to about 90. Not to mention how much it helps with weight loss (last time dropped 25lbs without changing anything else).
Anyway, glad to now there are other Type 1's who are not skinny-minnie.
