I wear a 9 -- now. I used to wear a 10W -- my feet have definitely lost weight. Even my mom noticed. She said, "remember how fat your feet used to be?" My older sister wears a 9-10 -- and she weighs about 325 - and when she was a normal weight, she only wore a size 7.
I was a size 8 until about a year ago. Now I have to wear a size 9. And most dress shoes, I can't wear (like boot cut) because my feet are too wide. Well, not so much width as it's height (the fat is on the top of my foot, rather than moving to the side). I buy a lot of men's runners, and I find they fit more comfortably because they make men's shoes wider.
Yupyup...think about it: the more you weigh, the more pressure you have pushing down on your feet, therefore basically squishing them down (which in turn flattens/spreads them out). You could also actually lose weight from your feet--how many people have lost weight from their hands/wrists (needed smaller rings/watches--I know it's happened to me, so why should feet be any different?)?
You got a point there, if your wrists and hands reduce (and ankles) then surely it applies to feet.
I'm a size 5.5 or 6 US - and my feet are wide because I spent 4 months, while I was travelling, wearing only really cheap sandals with no supprt. So I basically flattened them out over a couple months - I wore normal size shoes before I left, and have had to buy wide ones since I've been back! And I actually lost weight on that trip, so that wasn't the culprit.
I wear a UK 10. I'm a freak, I've actually started wearing bigger sizes since I lost weight. I used to wear a 9 wide, and I think that the places that did 9 wides also made their shoes a bit more generous all over. Now my feet are too narrow for a wide, I'm finding that normal 9s aren't long enough, so I've gone up to 10s.
Considering that most places stop at UK size 8, that's not necessarily a bonus
I am a size 10 US. My friends feet shrunck too with weight loss- awesome for her but bad for me bacause we were the same size and she has the cutest shoes. But it is def. possible!
wow - I thought I had big feet - I wear just a size 10 - I can usually wear the regular size 10 - but some brands don't fit too well - like nine-west - kennith cole usually does (I love their shoes). I don't know what will happen to my feet - they have always been pretty big - but then again I have always been pretty big
I take a US size 8, though depending on the style of shoe, I sometimes need 8W. My toes are very short and stubby (I'll never be a foot model! :P) which I'm guessing is part genetics (thanks, Dad!) and part fat.
My mom's feet used to be so narrow that she wasn't able to buy "normal" shoes, and had to shop at specialty stores. Now that she's gained weight, she's able to wear "normal" sizes - so it works both ways!
I wear a size 12 US. And my feet have been this size since the fifth grade... Back in those days it seemd I was going to be quite a tall girl but then I got sick in junior high (developed severe asthma) and I stopped growing for a couple of years. So I ended up only 5'8"- with the exception of my mom, that is short for my family. I think weight has affect my foot width a bit.
I can't buy shoes at a store- well not women's shoes anyway, though I did get lucky that last time I went to finish line and they had one pair in my size so I bought it. I think women's shoes fit me better than men's. Men have wide feet.
Normally my feet aren't at all wide, but the past couple of years they do seem a bit wider with more weight on. So I order shoes online- one of the last pairs I ordered, mary janes, won't stay buckled well with regular thick socks on but fits just fine with no socks on. Of course I have other shoe issues- I have really high arches so I am always buying different arch supports, sometimes I try to stack them togther. I also have long toes. I suppose someday I will see a podiatrist about getting custom insoles or whatever, for the arch pain and stuff.
I heard the ideal size (meaning foot models) is a US 6. I'm a 7 Wide or 7.5-8 Regular. I noticed that my shoes fit tighter after I gained weight so I think they're starting to shrink back towards 7.5
Throughout my teens, I weighed between 170 - 210lbs and wore a UK 7/8
At my heaviest, I went up to a UK 9/10 (397lbs). I hope I shrink back because I've got some nice size 7's/8's that need dusting off!!
Come to think of it, my mom's feet have gotten wider as she aged (and gained weight). So maybe it DOES go the other way too. I'm crossing all of my fingers and toes!
My feet have always been big, but they weren't always wide. European shoes fit me better than American, but they're also more expensive. Oh well.

I went from a US9 to a US8 in shoes and a 7 to a 4.5 in rings sizes. I've always had narrow feet and skinny fingers so I don't really know how that happened...
