Default Be held accountable - Review of August Goals

For those of you that wrote your goals down publicly and want to be held accountable - here is the moment.

Last months goals are here - **Goals for August 2006**

As for me:

August Goals
  • Lose 5kg - I have lost 0.5kg for the month. All in all i am happy with it as it brings my total loss up to 2.3kg which i will never, ever put back on again .
  • 1200 minutes exercise - Nope. In between injury and hectic home life, my exercise minutes fell short by half.
  • 2lt water per day - I slacked off a bit, especially over the days that I didn't exercise. I have decided it is no longer a goal, but a necessity - like brushing my teeth or having my meals. It is not negotiable. I have found I am drinking more during exercise - up to 1.5LT at the gym some days. Again this is a breakthrough as before joining the gym, when i walked i didn't take a drink with me. I have had to re-educate myself to drink constantly during exercise as well as after.
  • Complete month 1 of C25K - I tried (oh, did i try!) but I just can't run for any more than maybe a minute before my heel starts to hurt. I have avoided the treadmill and replaced it with non-impact cross training, cycling or rowing instead which is still a great workout, but my heel doesn't hurt for days afterwards. Once some more weight comes off, I will definately try the C25K again - hopefully my heel will get better then.
  • Focus on correct portion control at meals - Thinking about this now, I have gotten better. Not consciously, but still better. I have started to give the larger portions to my boyfriend instead of me. This was a big break through. He gets the larger cut of meat and I take the smaller one. This alone has helped me visually to conquer portions.

Goals for August:
Ok so this is what I pledged for August and how I did...

Drink 64 oz of water per day...I got to lazy to count to be honest with you. I did focus on drinking MORE water and think I averaged about 64 oz.

Do 1100 minutes of exercise...YAY over 1100 minutes, which was a 100 minute increase from last month. I think I will up it by 50 for Sept.

Go the whole month without drinking anything with cals (except coffee I mean come on...)...Ok this was officially ruined when I was shooting soccer tournaments outside in the heat for 12 hour days. Gatorade was vital...however sips of my husbands dr. pepper were not, this goal was completely FAILED.

Run 3X a week no matter what...averaged about 2X per week, but did so tooooooo hard and got shin splints...

Strength Train once a week no matter what...most weeks managed twice a week (GO ME) and I finally feel comfortable in the weight room at the gym.

Track ALL calories this month...yeah this was a big fat failure.

Looking forward to September Goals I think I am honing in on what I need to do...its like a science hehe!
