Default Horrible day! :(

At 7:30 last night i got soooo dizzy i wanted to faint .. i tried to tough it out till 1 am thinking its just exhaustion but then i started having chest pains! So i went to the emergency room and they made me WAIT ... finally at 5 am i told my hubby to take me home, i lied to tell telling him i felt better.

Then again at 8 am i couldn't breathe and wanted to faint again finally they get me in faster to the ER and give me all sorts off tests along with a cat scan and chest x rays... And after all that at 4 PM the doctor tells me i have a urinary tract infection and some vertigo .. I'm just happy it was nothing serious and has nothing to do with my diet and exercise.

I hope they did cardiac enzyme markers and an ECG if you were having chest pains. the 20's certianly isn't too young to have a heart attack. Are you taking any supplements? Caffine? Ephedrine? Hoodia? Those can be causes of cardiac disturbances. Are you diabetic?

There is NO reason why you should be having chest pains with a UTI or Vertigo. Seriously, I work a cardiac unit.

I am soooo sorry that you had to wait, but I am happy that the diagnosis was the UTI and vertigo and not anything too extreme What do you have to do to treat it? Lots of fluids? I have never had UTI...Can you do your regular activities?

It seems like it is a trend to wait in the ER for long periods of time, but that can be due to the increase of people with no insurance (I am one of them :/) going to the ER. My mom last year thought she was having a heart attack. They brought her into the nursing station to ask her to fill out a questionierre as she is grasping her chest!!! Luckily it was only a full blown anxiety attack but unfortunately we have crappy hospitals with a low paid staff where my parents live.

Scary- I hate the ER. I'm glad it's nothing serious, but sorry you had to go through that.
On the plus side, I think these experiences are necessary to remind us just how important it is to be kind to our bodies and mindful of our health.
