Congrats, Mel! You are proof positive that it IS possible to keep off the weight. You (and many of the others at 3FC: Meg, Robin, Glory, et al) are my role model!!!
Pam
Mel what a marvelous achievement. Thank you for not keeping it to yourself but sharing it with the rest of us here at 3FC.
I remember the first time you responded to a post of mine I was so giddy that a woman of your stature, long standing, and physical awareness, would deem me a newb who hadn't even lifted her first pound... You were instantly transformed into my Goddess of Grunt! I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for you and the rest of the Maintainer's here.
From the bottom of my heart... Thank You! Thank you for being here for us!
Yikes! Goddess of Grunt? You must workout when I do... I've discovered that I really shouldn't use an ipod and lift heavy because I can't hear the obnoxious sounds that I make
Congratulations Mel!!! You are always inspiring. Thank you for the never-ending support and encouragement you give to myself and everyone else here.
And I must admit that I lurk over in the former "Ladies who lift" section of the site, and I do believe "The Goddess of Grunt" is a fitting nickname. Maybe you should add it to your newly changed signature!
Shane- I lost about 65 pounds. I never weighed myself at the very start because it felt too dreadful, so I'll never know for sure. I also have NO before pictures...the typical "here I am at the start of a diet" kind. If I couldn't face the scale, I certainly wasn't about to stand in front of a camera!
65 pounds? WOW! You made it sound like you didn't lose that much... 65 pounds is A LOT of weight! That's AMAZING that you have kept it off for 6 years. Don't undermine your accomplishmentS
****, I think my 40 pounds is a decent amount. People seem floored to hear about anyone losing more than 20 or 30
Mel, I just found this thread while picking thru threads tonite.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You have been one of the constant faces in my personal quest - I thank you for every encouraging word and not-so-subtle educational moments too (thwonk!) I'll never forget the "I'm working my major muscles groups post" when I was new, to which you quickly let me know quite kindly that I had left out about 25% of them!! LOL
THANK YOU for your consistent presence on our forums! 3 cheers for the GOG!!
