I guess they work with both feet and armpits!

Seems like the organic industry would come up with antiperspirant that doesn't make one lose their mind...tough choice, stink or lose memory...seems like we could come up with a few more options.

I don't know if the OP is still around, but if you smell after using your deodorant, then your deodorant just isn't working and you can find one that does. I make my own out of baking soda/cornstarch/coconut oil and I *never* smell when I use it. If I can do it, it sure seems like you can find one to buy that would work. Now, if you're still sweating while using your deodorant, you can't really blame the deodorant for that. But you should still smell alright!

I use Tom's lavendar scented deodorant, I love it. I have also tried the Adidas cotton one which I don't think they make anymore and one of the Jason brand. It took my body a few months to adjust to deodorant from antiperspirant and though I have to reapply it a couple of times a day when it is really hot out I feel like I sweat less. In the winter I don't wear it everyday but when I wore antiperspirant I would have to wear it everyday or I'd be stinky.

Here is an interesting article about deodorants & antiperspirant and cancer, it seems that the parabens (preservatives), if anything, are really the thing to be concerned about. But as with most things regarding health, more research is needed...

Tom's of Maine makes a really good smelling deodorant that is specifically not made with aluminum. It's also inexpensive and can be found at most stores (or at least in my area). It comes in a bunch of scents.

But deodorants don't stop sweat like antiperspirants so it's pretty much useless

Sounds like what I need is an antiperspirant that doesn't have preservatives...anybody know of any?

I don't know of any antiperspirants that don't have preservatives, but if anyone is looking for deodorants I have used the Crystal body deodorant roll-ons and sprays and they are really great. Walgreens carries the roll-on and I ordered the spray from the Crystal website.

Here is what I do. I use my anti-persp/deoderant in the morning after I shower. At night, I wash my armpits really well and let them be free over-night, therefore limiting my pits to 1/2 the exposure. I figured it was a happy medium, because I need the anti-persp. protection during the day!

I use Now Foods Nature's deodorant stone and love it. It doesn't have any smell and works good. I'm really sensitive to scents and the alcohol in deodorants would burn my underarms. It's made of minerals and you just wet it before using.

I don't think it's anti perspirant, but I found some that are supposed to be without aluminum:

Secret Natural anti perspirant solid
Nivea Fresh anti perspirant deodorant

I use Herbal Clear (which was available at my regular grocery store). It works well, but not perfectly. On days I really really really don't want to smell, i use my alcohol-based hand sanitizer (or just 60% rubbing alcohol). It kills all the bacteria, and no smell.
