Kim - I think peeling a grapefruit is strange. I grew up with grapefruit spoons (wonder where they got off to). So I cut my grapefruit in half and run a knife around the edge and cut sections....I must say, today's grapefruits have been delicious! I want more than my allotment.
Kim - I'm a huge Phyllis Diller fan. She always made me laugh!
Okay - I'm not gonna de membrane my grapefruit....

We took a group of people who had a half of a grapefruit three times a day before each meal. And, much to our surprise, without really altering their diet, they lost 3½ pounds or a pound a week without really doing anything else," Fujioka said.
Researchers said the weight loss has something to do with the grapefruit membrane.
Fujioka's theory: The grapefruit's membrane may control appetite and help regulate insulin. Eating the fruit decreased insulin's after- meal spike and, as a result, ensured that calories were processed for energy rather than for fat storage.
"It may be that the membrane has something that will give you a feeling of fullness or it has separate effect in helping with weight loss. We are not really sure," Fujioka said.
Paula - that is how I've always done mine too. I LOVE grapefruit! Interesting article you posted. I have wondered about that very thing recently because the weeks I haven't ate my grapefruit my losses have been smaller. I typically eat one a day.
Wendy - I wanted to say thanks for posting about doing the grapefruit because it inspired me to start the 8 week thingy, and I didn't want to do the dang juice. It so much more fulfilling to eat my juice, lol! Your post today helps me to formulate what to do in 12 days. Thats the one I'm really dreading with only the 6oz of protien.
