I absolutely believe that's possible. It all has to do with hormones from stress and not sleeping. Thank heavens that chapter of your life is over!!

And way to go, hot Grandma! You're so hot the women are hitting on you now!

I'm in full spring cleaning mode and finished another room but -- books! We have too many books! I have cartons of them to sort and find a place for or donate. Of course, I keep finding ones I want to read, so the stack by my bed is getting taller. The problem is - I get into bed to read at night and ... z-z-z-z-z after one page. Then I have to go back and re-read it the next night so it's hard to make progress.

Lol, Lily, I guess that's an NSV! Glad you've been having such fun with DH. Did SD leave?

Pat- You're weekend excursion sounds fun, but COLD!

It's teaser spring here- nice one day and snowing the next. I'm really focused right now and found a great magic tile on my bathroom floor for the scale, can actually see abs again.

This weekend is the usualy round of groceries, cooking, laundry, etc. I got some sluggish cardio done and cleaned one bathroom, so far. We'll probably watch a movie tonight- any suggestions?

Meg- got any good mysteries there?

All the Jeffrey Deavers, Stephanie Plums, Elizabeth Georges, Elizabeth Peters, and the Goldie Bears, but those make me hungry. I've stopped reading Patricia Cornwell because she's gotten too gross and creepy for my tastes. I had to stop in the middle of Predator - couldn't read any more. Any new authors to recommend?

Okay, it's not a real mystery (like Jeffrey Deavers) but you have GOT to read Harlan Cobin. OMG, such good books. I recommend starting with Tell No Lie. I read it in less than a day. You just can't put his books down! I've read them all..........waiting for the next.

Oh goodie - a new series! I'll definitively check them out - thanks!

Edited to add: I just went and checked out his web site - looks like his new book is coming out April 17 so you don't have long to wait. The book you recommend is in the middle of the series ... you don't think I should start with the first one and read them in order?

Well, I'm feeling fat and bloated, but my taxes are done.

I feel like I'm unwrecking the train the last couple days. I have been on major chocolate therapy for the last couple weeks and the scale is sure showing it. But I made some small commitments to myself and kept them, and that always makes me feel like I'm on a roll. Plus I've successfully implemented the 15 minute rule the last couple days which has helped a lot (basically wait 15 minutes before eating anything). Not that they've been great eating days, but small steps are good anytime.

Hi maintainers,

Anne, Lily - Hugs to you.

And to all the others -Pat, I just put in 15 mins elliptical, 1 hr yoga & I'm on my way to an hour of meditation.

Mel - I'm definitely on spring cleaning streak...yesterday cleaned out my garsge (wel , 60% done is also good progress I guess) and today i cleaned the fish tank. Apart from the ususal laundry, groceries, vacuuming ets etc. of course.

Meg - another detectve reader ? Funny thing is I also find i cannot read cornwell anymore. Like you say, just got too horrid for my taste.

Silver - i watched the eclipse as well yesterdaynight! But I only saw part of it, at midnight. i had to get DS from his friends house. How's the wood going ? I put mine back into the woodshed, but then my stove is only complemantary to a HR gas central heating!

Have a great day all,

Meg~he actually has two series. One is a series with the same main characters and I did not read them in order and it wasn't too confusing. Those are the Myron Bolitar books. He rehashes things in each book in case you didn't read the previous one.

The other series has only minor characters that appear here and there in the books. Although some get killed off in some books, it isn't (IMO) necessary to read them in order. The one I suggested to read first has been made into a movie--but not here. It was done in France. I don't know if it is even distributed here.

Hi everyone, My SD and her kids have not left yet. She has appt. with divorce attorney here in the AM and should leave after the appt. She didn't want to leave to MIL's that is 2 hrs. away until after seeing the attorney. So, I had to suffer through her staying through the weekend. Hopefully she'll be gone tomorrow.

I'm having spring fever too and want to clean my house really good. But, until they all leave it wouldn't do me any good.

I also love to read. I like John Grisham books. I used to read Cornwell too and quit reading them. I used to love Steven King, but he's too far out there now. I liked his earlier books. When I find a book that I am really into I'll lay awake all night until I finish it.

We are breaking up our garden soil this Tuesday, I'll be glad to be outside and planting.

Meg, I had my DD take a new pic. of me Friday night before we went out. I'll show you all my new hairstyle and me with make-up on as soon as I get them developed. Going dancing is fun and is good exercise. I can have a great time even though I don't drink any alcohol. As far as getting hit on by both men and women, this is sure strange for me. I hid behind my fat for so many years that I'm definitely not comfortable with it.

I was sure amazed at what people wear nowdays. I'm pretty out of the loop, I guess. I always tried to hide my fat. Well, not these other gals. No matter the size, everything was low-cut and lots of skin showing. Mini-skirts, spandex, high heels and half shirts seemed to be the going outfit. I wouldn't be caught dead in the clothes most of them were wearing.

Lol, me and DH were dancing and looked up and my son was dirty dancing with a girl very close to us. He is 21 now. He thought it was so neat that his PARENTS were out there too. He wasn't embarassed. Some of his friends said "hey shane, I saw your mom and dad here". "your dad is that trooper that made me take the red, blinking lights off my car when we were still in high school". LOL. Granted we live in a small area with only a couple of clubs to go to so it probably won't be the last time we run into one of our kids when we go out.

Isn't that the truth?? I'm all for people feeling comfortable in their own bodies and feeling good whatever size they are ... but some young girls are taking it way too far. As in major muffin top and stretchy tops that are glued on and reveal every fat roll.

Lily, we're all looking forward to your photos! And that nothing slows down SD's departure.

Allison, thanks for the explanation of the two series - now it makes sense! I'm looking forward to reading them.

For those of you that have the Thin For Life book. I made the tuna casserole in it tonite and I used the 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup in it. It was very good and low cal/low fat. I also baked the Too Good to be No-fat Chocolate Cake from it and it was good. I didn't use any frosting on top of it and it tasted like a sweet chocolate bundt cake. I used the Splenda brown sugar instead of regular brown sugar and it worked fine. I normally don't bake any desserts that don't come from a box. So this was my first ever made from scratch cake and I was impressed. LOL. There is a recipe for peach cobbler that is low-cal that I will bake it sometime. I am going to also try the veggie lasagna sometime. I like trying new recipes. I have got to get me some low-cal cookbooks.

What do you all think I should do. When SD and her kids arrived 6 days ago, she didn't bring them any clothes. I've told her every single day to go get their clothes. She hasn't done it. Then of course when she wants to leave this house she has the excuse that she can't take kids with her cause they have no clothes. I just want to shake the crap out of her. She has an appt. tomorrow with a divorce attorney. I had no intention of watching the kids again but I feel sorry for them being dragged to attorney's office in 30 degree weather in nothing but diapers. I'm sure I'll cave in and watch them again and she'll take advantage of the situation and leave them 11 hrs. or so again like she did on Tuesday when she never even went to see an attorney. I feel like I'm screwed either way. DH will be at work, so he can't watch them. I just again told her to go get their clothes. DH made her call her soon to be EX and he said it is OK for her to come get kid's clothes, but I can't physically make her do it. He's at work now and she is just dropping this just like every other thing she should be doing. I told her now for 3 days in a row to clean her car out so she'd have room for the kids some clothes, she finally did that much after I grabbed a trash bag and went and started to get junk out of it. I told her she simply isn't going to borrow my vehicle at all. She wants to take it because it has more room in it. But her tags have been expired since December and I'm NOT driving a vehicle with expired tags. DH totally agreed that she can't borrow my vehicle.

hi Lilly,

I would say pity for the kiddies, but let SD take them to the attorney with or without clothes. IMO it looks like if you give a finger, she'll take the arm. I'm crossing my fingers for you that she'll get out fast and take her problems with her!

I'm sorry, I can't believe anyone would take their kids out without benefit of clothes. Especially in the weather you are in! What on earth does that girl have in her head???!!! Sorry, lily, but your SD really is a case! I hope that you are soon rid of her--she sounds extremely toxic.
