Default Why does....

Tuna make my tummy hurt?

I had this problem before when I would put tuna in my salad... so I stopped that. And today I had tuna and crackers... and again my tummy hurts... but it doesnt seem to bug me if I have it on a sandwitch

Does anyone know?

Hmm strange... Tuna has some mercury in it... perhaps you are a bit sensitive to it?

p.s. Puppy!! I want! *pouts*

Hi, I have the same problem. I'm okay if I make tuna cakes or on a salad but I can't have it as a sandwich. - weird

wow, i have the same slight problem- it's only for a bit though.

But i highly doubt that its the mercury. AT least for me, it's probably more of a
gastrointestinal movement, perhaps. I don't eat tuna often, so it's likely that my stomach doesn't agree with me...

I started to get the same feeling. I get a pretty bad stomachache with shrimp. I was a shrimp fiend and then one day I ate it, got a bad tummy ache that night. Ate it again, same thing so figured it wasn't the rest of the food, just shrimp. I get a tummy rumble or two with tuna but I just eat it anyway because I love me some tuna.

Yesterday the tummy ache wasn't too bad - just a little weird, kinda like bad gas and I drank a diet coke and it was fine. For some reason pop helps to settle my tummy.

But the last time this happened - few months ago, it was horrible, I felt like I was going to be so sick..... Its almost like tuna doesnt go well in my empty tummy (like when I have it mostly alone) - but it is fine with some bread on a sandwitch....

If this started happening with shrimp... I WOULD DIE!

I have a similar reaction when I eat almonds. Terrible, painful stomach ache and feelings of nausea. This only happens when I eat almonds on their own, I can have them in granola bars.
