OK....just to update you all. I've done really well and have not indulged. And my dh is doing just as well by only eatting one "serving" every day of one type of cookie.
Every little bit of effort counts, Right?

Why, why are they so good? Each year I buy at least 12 boxes. I do well with them. I leave them at work. That works for me because I would never overeat in public. It is when I am home alone that I have that problem. So they will not come into my apartment. In the past I have struggled with peanut butter and wheat thins also. At one point I totally stopped buying either and truly I have lost my taste for wheat thins. Peanut butter will always be a weakness but recently I have done well with it here.

Darnit, now all I want is a box of Samoas and a giant glass of milk with insta-refills. :-/

Instead, I will go to my kitchen like a good girl and make some rice.

I simply wouldn't buy something I know I can't resist. That is just asking to fail on your diet. Why torture yourself?

I guess we all have to do what is best for us. I know for me totally eliminating something that I want from my diet does not work for me. Then I eat more of everything else trying to satisfy that want and those foods don't work because its not what I want. So I eat more and more. What works for me is having what I want in moderation.

I'm more with 72butterfly. If I can't have it at all, the moment I get it, I'm out of control. But if I have small portions (like I'm doing with the cookies) it quelches my need for it. And right now, I'm focused and able to cope. Should a time come, however, when they become something I can't control, then I have no problem throwing them out!!!

Unhappy just ground mine up in the disposal

after eating about 10-12 of them over the past 1/2 day. I can't have crap like that in the house right now and I had asked DH to take them to work. He forgot -- I didn't ! Will it always be this hard with stuff I like so much? I never used to be this bad, but will eat way more than a serving over a short period of time!
