I losts 70 lbs in 5 months on Medifast from Nov 2003-April 2004. Unfortunately it eventually had some adverse side effects for me--heart palpitations and hair loss. My doctor advised me to stop the program because of what it was doing to my body.

I'm not saying that to scare you out of doing it. But I would strongly advise a visit to your doctor before starting the program to make sure this is the best way for you to drop the weight.

That being said, I liked the ease of the program. The downside is the fact that you aren't taught to make good food choices once you go back on regular food.

Hi and welcome to the board. Never done a liquid diet. If your looking for support this is the place. Great group of people here.

You mentioned you did not like most healthy foods. I'm just curious as to what your long term plan is for when you go back to eating regular meals. I guess that is what I dislike about liquid diets is you're not learning new habits of what to eat. I can see them being used as a great jump start to a diet but you will really need to get a plan in place for when you get off the liquid.

I'm not trying to badger and I think using Medifast will get you a good start. I hope you did not take that wrong I'm just trying to help. Planing is the key. So get a good plan in place and you will be successful.
