Cool

Beverly - I was trying to figure that out too. They didn't really explain how that would work. It would seem to me that they would have to be permanently on a 1-day off schedule for it to even out.
Jen - the man who lost the 60 lbs is probably more sedentary than me. He walks with a cane because he has a bad hip and is having surgery next month. We're both about the same age too.
Marble - didn't you say on another thread somewhere that you worked in the same building as Dr. Jeff? If so, have you seen him? I'd like to know how he's doing. It's hard to believe a doctor would get so heavy.
Actually, I almost cringe when I see Jeff and the other really heavy men straining themselves. It seems to me that it would be dangerous for them to exert themselves so much.

Yes, Dr. Jeff....is a family medicine doc. in my building....he's office is on another floor, I'll slither down the back stairs when I get a chance and let you know. I'm sure he doesn't remember me (i'm just another OB exam and he wasn't focusing on my face)

He's always been morbidly obese since his residency....he's been here over 12 years. He has had varying degrees of weight loss, but he carries it below the bellybutton.

I remember seeing a banner welcoming him back hanging up in his dept. late summer.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this show... Mark turns me off completely, I wanted to smack him over the head with a greasy frying pan (How's that for visual effects? ). Katheryn wasn't played up to be so annoying, it's so early into the show as well. I just really think they could have done a bit better with the show, by showing what people are eating, the types of workouts ... rather than clips of them running on the treadmill. I'm curious to see the rest of the show... so I'll stay tuned!

I've been thinking about that this whole time! I'm glad you brought it up because I was thinking I must just be a little slow.

I agree with you swimgirl - I wish they would go a little more indepth....I'd like to know more about what they are eating, how they are coping with the diet change, etc - less of seeing them work out really hard, less of the fluff.

(greasy frying pan )

I was baffled by the weigh-in a day later too - sure it helped them this time, but I'm sure they won't get to weigh in a day later all season - so now they are screwed next time. Not much of a reward!
