It's been a hectic 4 weeks! Carson is home now. It's been 7 days and things are going well. He may need some minor surgery on an inguinal hernia, which is pretty common in premature babies, but other than that he has a clean bill of health and is nearing the 5 lb mark! He is so awesome and we are just thrilled to have him home. I haven't been able to get on-line very much aside from some quick browsing, between diaper changes, feeding and pumping! Carsons on a 3 hour around the clock feeding schedule, it's tough at night, but I'll do ANYTHING for that little bugger of mine. I've attached some recent pictures.. He's so cute, if I do say so myself.
I plan to catch up on some posts soon. I should be back into the swing of things shortly.. I've got a LOT to lose. I really gained during pregnancy. I'll reveal my weight for starting back to it, after my 6 week follow up.
Oh Gretchen, he's an absolute angel. I'm so glad he's home so quickly (and gaining so quickly, also ~ wow almost 5lbs. already, soon you'll never know he was ever a preemie!)
Try to get as much rest as you can for now and we'll look forward to seeing you on a regular basis after that six week follow-up. I know you'll be raring to get working on that foxy little bod again.
His little face has heaps of personality, he is sooooooo cute. I am so glad you're all at home doing well. It must be so nice to have your life off hold. I used to work with mums of preemies and it's horrible those weeks when you are living a "hospital life" and trying to maintain home life as well.
Don't worry about losing weight while you're breastfeeding. I jumped right into a very strict diet right after my daughter was born and it ended up drying my milk production up when she was only about three months old. What I wouldn't give to have been able to breastfeed her longer, and I'll never get that time back.
Gretchen ~ Carson is sure a cutie. I'm glad he is home with you now so you can enjoy all that cuddling and snuggling. My favorite picture of him is the one where he is nestled among his "cuddly friends".
OMG Gretchen he is adorable. Glad to hear he's home and doing well. Thanks for taking the time to update us. I agree with jennifer that I have no doubt you'll be getting that weight off and back near and then at goal in no time.
I am so happy that he is okay Gretchen - he's so cute!
Take it easy for now - but I will look forward to having your discipline and positive attitude back when you are ready to lose weight - I'm hoping it will rub off on me!
Oh Gretchen, he looks wonderful!! Such character in his little face and eyes! OMG, he's just too cute for words! Thanks for posting some updated pics, I can't wait to see even more.
