Eggplant (YUK)
Peas (YUK)
Most Meats - we only eat beef (not hamburger), turkey and chicken
Pigs Feet
Sugar Cereals
Cookies, chips, etc (If they are in the house, *I* will eat them!!)
Box meals like Hamburger Helper, Rice-a-Roni, etc
Fish that still has the head - I love fish, but I just can't deal with a whole one. :yuk:
You know, I had pickled pig's feet once, and it wasn't so bad! BTW, I just moved to Oregon from West Seattle. Miss the water; don't miss the traffic.

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Tuna in those handy dandy packets (I get both the small and big sizes)
Pepperidge Farms low-carb whole wheat bread
Rosemary Tortillas by La Tortilla Factory (made with EVOO - yum! only 3g unsaturated fat and a whoppiing 12 grams of fiber apiece!!!)
Reduced fat feta
Paul Newman's Lowfat Dressings (they're like 400-500 grams lower in sodium than other brands -- sometimes I doctor them)
Bottled lemon juice
Fresh lemons
Fresh garlic
Liquid Smoke (if needed -- a little goes a long way, but I always keep it on hand)
Canned whole tomatoes (from Italy)
Low sodium canned dark red kidney beans
Low sodium canned garbanzo beans
Fresh baby carrots
Bagged, pre-cleaned spring mix
Fresh tomatoes (if I can, I splurge on vine-ripened and/or organic)

I Can't Believe it's Not Butter spray (if needed)
Romaine lettuce
Lowfat turkey breast chops

Butter (I rarely need to buy this because I use so little, but even just a tiny bit can go a long way when it comes to flavor in cooking)
Skim milk (with added Vit A and D)
Frozen soybeans (I eat these almost every day; I get C & W brand -- virtually no fat, high fiber, and slightly more protein than carbs)
Hellman's light mayo (if needed - I use very little)
Grey Poupon Dijon mustard
Balsamic vinegar (use this like crazy)
Parmigiano Reggiano or Pecorino (if needed -- I use very little of each but always keep some on hand for grating -- again, a little bit goes a long way)
Baby new potatoes (lower glycemic and already portion controlled!)
Extra lean ground beef (93% lean)
Green or red peppers (good sauteed with chopped new potatoes and the ground beef!)
NEVER:
Processed, packaged meals
Frozen dinners
Chips and other salty treats
Cookies, muffins, or other wasteful, high-sugar items
Juice (too high-glycemic)
High sodium ANYTHING
High fat stuff
Anything with empty calories and no nutritive benefit
Fresh herbs, because I grow them all in batches and save boucoup bucks!
If I feel like I have to have a treat, I almost always go OUT to have it rather than keeping it on-hand in the house; if I do get it to have at home, I get just enough for the one meal.
I think that's pretty much it for me!

Reason: I can't believe I forgot the tuna!!
I had to laugh at you liquid smoke. I came home the other night and I was like, "What the heck? Why does my house smell like it's on fire?"
There was my 4 year old Husky with the EMPTY bottle between his paws. He drank it and used it as a parfum. I immedaitely dumped him in the bath tub (a great injustice in his mind). Afterwards, I was like, "Oh don't you smell better!" and he leaned over a breathed on me - smoke breath. Argh! What a riot!
