Hey Diana3271! Been looking at your faithful daily weight in and how perfect and precise you've been with your calories! Rooting for you to shake that weight off from that one day. Is it even truly possible to put on 6lbs in one day? that scares me - cause yesterday I had an extra dessert and drink but ate very reasonably otherwise and bam, its +1.5lbs on the scale. I feel like the scale is so unforgiving!

I think gains like that are mostly water weight. But it still takes me time to get it back off. I remember a few years ago, I would drop the water weight within a week or so. It's so much harder now. It should motivate me to stick to my plan, right? LOL Just keep plugging along. We will both get there.
yumeo, keep working at it... ! No matter how much resistance... with doing something one is still MUCH better off than the outcome of doing nothing!
Diana3271, I hear that drinking more water helps drop water weight, is that true? I love looking at your profile and seeing all your history, you are a true veteran and an inspiration!
facingfacts12 Drinking extra water can help. I find I get enough water during the week but I get out of my normal routine on the weekend. The last couple of weekends I have made it a point to drink more water.
facingfacts12 I went to an Endo today for hypothyroidism. I used to go to her but my insurance changed. I had to get a primary care Dr. but didn't request a referral to go back to the Endo. The primary care Dr. added in a med that could be making my perimenopause symptoms worse and complicating things. It will take 2 months for my body to regulate and then the Endo can retest to see where we are at. There's no quick fix but hopefully I will be going back in the right direction within a few months. I also have angioedema which is related to the hypothyroidism. If the hypo isn't properly controlled it causes problems with the angioedema. I have had constant angioedema symptoms. Again, hopefully things will be improving soon.
Diana3271, hope things and hormones even out soon! You are a trooper for how faithfully you continue to eat right and weigh in and all - really an inspiration! I'm trying to keep going strong even though the scale hasn't shown much love lately, I've been at the same spot for 10 days, dipping down a pound only once to get right back up. Hoping for a drop tomorrow. If I had already lost like 30-40lbs I would accept it more, but after only 10?? I should still be losing at a pretty good rate right now, so need to see if I'm eating more than I should. Still haven't done much calorie counting.
facingfacts12 You could probably start measuring the heavier carbs/sugar foods. Don't worry much about the lean protein and regular cooked/steamed veggies. Those carbs cans sneak up on you. A serving of pasta is so small.
Diana3271, been so frustrated, cause I've taken my carbs down to practically zero. I don't eat pasta, or bread, or fruit, or cereals or even brown rice - my meals these last few days are all lean protein and veggies. Plus I avoid the starchy root vegetables also.. I don't know what gives. The scale hasn't been moving much, and what's worse, my blood sugar's been climbing up from where it was. Seriously confused with my body right now!
waiting to see what happens over the weekend - going to try to be super good and watch for calories in general and see if things start improving
facingfacts12 A couple ideas. Maybe you can weigh/measure your food daily and then you will have an idea about how many calories you are eating and then you can tweak it from there. Another thing is that everyone's body is different with their needs. Some people need more carbs. In this case, make sure they are healthy carbs.
