S/C/G: Goal is to reach 170

Default

Happy New Year, everybody!
May 2017 help us all reach our health goals. I am going back to the only thing that has worked for me in the past: eating low carb and getting lots of veggies in.
Thank you so much opheliaphoenix for allowing us to use your great template.

Today's plan:
Breakfast: 2 small sausage links, omelet (2 eggs with spinach, butter)
Lunch: salmon patty, salsa and ranch
Dinner: salad with some sort of protein (haven't figured it out yet but could be chicken or fish)
Snack: handful of almonds
Exercise: walk 3 miles

Have a great day everyone!

Happy New Year! I'd like to join this! I didn't weigh in today because I didn't want to start off the New Years being frustrated with my scale, lol. But I shall check-in tomorrow!

Also! I just want to post my mission for 2017 so that I can hold myself accountable. I'm going to continue eating as healthy as I can this year with small splurges every other day, because I just can't go cold turkey and eat healthy all the time. I'm not going to calorie count, as that drives me insane. I'm just going to watch what I eat and eyeball my meals. I will not binge.. A girl's gotta have her grandma's homemade spaghetti sometimes, but that does not mean I am going to go all out and binge-crazy.

Also, I know my weight has most likely gone up a few pounds due to all the holiday feasts this past week. So I will post my new starting weight tomorrow. Here's what I'm hoping for my weight for 2017:

Mid February: 140s
Late March/early April: 130s
June: 120s
Fourth of July: Goal weight at 120.

...And then maintain from then on out.
Good luck to everyone!

Hello Everyone!!!

Welcome to those who are new to this thread and page

Everyone seems to have some great plans in place, I didn't have a great food day yesterday as my gran always throws her own birthday party , so yesterday she was 75 and I had cake, it was nice I also has some steak pie .

Today however it a much better day so far, had a good breakfast and a great lunch. Now I just need to be a bit more active and tidy up, vacuum and go into town and have a little wander around

Hope everyone will have a good first Monday of 2017. Yesterday was an ok day. Drank 1.4L of water and had a healthy breakfast and supper. Kinda skipped lunch/kinda munched on junk food leftover from the Holidays, but there's no more left in the house, so that's a good thing. I am still having some coughing fits, though fewer and farther between, so I'm going to wait until next week to start exercising again. So far today, had a solid breakfast and packed a great lunch and healthy snacks for work. One meal at a time.

Well, I think I experienced some sort of Christmas miracle because somehow I only gained 0.4 lbs during the holidays! Working out on my dad's old spin bike while visiting home paid off! Weird thing is, when I weighed in this morning it showed a 0.2 lb gain. However, I felt quite ill and went back to bed. Did not drink or eat anything, so when I woke up I weighed in again a couple hours later and I somehow gained an additional 0.2 lbs. Just by laying down and not consuming anything. It's like fate knew a 0.2 holiday weight gain was too good to be true, so they had to double it.
Oh well, a 0.4 lbs gain is still good. Now it's time to start losing the weight!
Had a healthy egg/spinach bowl this morning, and will be finishing the day off with salad and more eggs. Not sure if I'll be excercising today.

Scotsgal, I'd never heard of steak pie before. I googled it and am salivating over my computer now! That looks amazing!

I'd love to join in as well. Thank you for the wonderful template, I like how it is broken up!

Really starting today, had a pretty rough new years day. I'm focusing on my eating habits the next few days, I'll be back at the gym when school starts but gym is never my problem, it is calories.

Not so great start to the year for me. Yesterday I was feeling a little bit sick and a little bit down after having a house full of people and then suddenly I was by myself with the baby, and I ended up having a mini-binge on leftover Christmas treats. The good news is, my weight stayed the same. The bad news is, I had the little binge in the first place.

I really need to find a better outlet for my negative emotions than digging into whatever junk food I can find.

I'm glad a lot of you are enjoying my template!

As for my own update, I'm already fumbling a bit because I forgot to weigh-in today before eating. D'oh! I'm chalking it up to just starting this journey again and not being in the habit yet. I have a feeling that my weight will be higher tomorrow due to a spaghetti night, buuuut I'm still going to set myself a reminder, because I need to remember to stay aware of the consequences of my choices again now that I'm back at this.

I'm going grocery shopping today, so I think this is where I will make the most difference in my whole month. I went over some of my old food logs on MFP (back when I used to use it and was having some success with weight loss) and will be using that as a shopping guide to get me back in the right mindset. Hoping it helps retrigger those memories of how it felt when I was eating healthy again, and it will be easier to transition back to that lifestyle. Fingers crossed!

My dec was not good. hoping for a better year. Gaining all this weight has caused some issues and I really need to get some weight off. I am having trouble getting around and am afraid that if I dont get serious it will be too late. Heres to a great 2017. Still trying to decide which way to go. I have done low carb and was successful and the foods are more to my liking. I am willing to try anything.

Thanks for the accountability thread.

1/1 - Pretty good day. Didn't quite hit my calorie goal. Came in too low by about 200 calories, only making it to about 825 calories for the day. The day started well with my typical breakfast (approx. 500 calories...eggs scrambled with a bunch of veggies and a tsp of vegan cashew cheez, toast and a 4 ounce glass of oj). Then we got derailed when my youngest daughter talked hubby into taking a road trip.

Upside, I stepped WAY out of my comfort zone and did an indoor climbing adventure course with them. If fear burns calories, it was like a ran a marathon...lol I was terrified to even try because the weight limit is 300 (I'm under 275), but depends on comfortably fitting in the harness and I have a huge butt and belly. I fit, though, and I did probably 80% of the course. I couldn't convince myself to do the two cargo net crossings or the single tightrope. I just can't imagine a rope that can hold my weight!

I got in 10K of mall walking for Pokemon, too, thanks to our detour. But because we were busy and out of the house and the fact that I didn't want to buy junk in the food court of the mall, I ended the night eating only a kale salad and an apple, which didn't let me hit my minimum 1000 calorie goal for the day.

1/2 - Breakfast went well. Walk/Ran 3 miles on the treadmill at the gym. Grabbed an apple, a handful of blueberries and .5 ounces of cashews at lunch because I wasn't really hungry but didn't want to end up like yesterday. Dinner was a wild rice risotto (veggie broth based, no dairy) with steamed butternut squash and lots of roasted mushrooms. No caffeine today (that's my big January resolution - no drinking soda or, eventually, any calories) and I'm at 1100 calories, which is still low but in the safe zone.

Okay, 2 days in and already a binge epsiode, although to be fair this has become the norm for me for the past like 4 or 5 months so its not really out of the ordinary. In other horrifying news: I've gained 10 pounds since I last weighed myself in August, and my run time is UP by 10 mins (haven't run since August). My reports are all coming back poor but amidst all of this I would like to appreciate the fact that in August I began focusing on strength training (one day a week with a trainer, 2 days alone) and therefore even with a 10 pound gain my clothes still fit and my body looks alright. Its really the midsection that has suffered, but everything else looks more or less the same. Its not the end of the world and I know it, I'm just sad for the lost progress. My one year anniversary for joining my gym will come around mid March and my aim is to at LEAST beat my stats from when I signed up! One day at a time..

Good Tuesday morning! Yesterday was a good day, healthy eating and getting 1.1L of water in. I tried drinking more water but It got super busy at the store in the afternoon and I spent it on the salesfloor with not a second to spare. I drank more water at home and I wound up going to the bathroom every two hours at night. Not a restful night to say the least. So no more water for me past 6pm. Hope everyone will have a good day.
