Thank you, Rennie. I sure do miss you! You know how I hate daily weighing and how hard this is for me. I'm forcing myself. After my last lousy month I didn't think I would do another month, but here I am!

I have been reading up on Mindful Eating recently, and my goal is to conquer this. I am finding it so interesting and it has renewed my faith in myself to lose this weight!

Lurchmama, my throat has never hurt bad enough to not be able to swallow. I have always wanted the food more than I wanted to avoid the pain. This is sad, isn't it? Hope you feel better soon.

Good morning

Can't believe it's December 1! Good to see the regulars make their way over to the December thread. My weight is up about a pound due to TOM arriving soon.

December 1: 209 lbs.

@Wannabehealthy: I think Mindful Eating is a very positive strategy. When I was at might lightest, around 140 lbs. three years ago, I was actively doing mindful eating but didn't know it at the time. This was a big part of my success. Of course it certainly wasn't a natural approach for me at the beginning. Once the weight started to drop and I could see the relationship between the quality AND quantity of food I was eating, the weight loss and how good I was feeling, it all clicked and became much more automatic. I'm glad it has led to renewed faith in yourself.

Wishing everyone a wonderful rest of your day.

Rennie: Thank you for the new thread!

Carol Sue: I hope mindful eating works for you. I am guilty of eating while reading or watching TV or while charting at work. I stress eat and don't even realize what I'm eating. Whatever is there is what I eat. LOL! I will try it with you!

Hi Scotsgal, Fera, Bookmark and Curvy! I know everyone will make progress this month!

I'm excited and determined to enter 2017 in the 160's. I've lost a couple of pounds in last two days d/t whatever malady this is I've contracted. I'm on antibiotics and steroids and starting to feel a little better. Pushing fluids, etc. I have to work back to back doubles this weekend, and hopefully next week I can start back on my 5k quest.

Hang in there and be strong!

So today has been a little off but I think I am still within my calories. I had my eggs this morning, then I had a protein bar because I needed to go get the weekly shopping and didn't have enough in to have Lunch. Then by the time I did the shopping and got my way home it was nearly dinner time so instead I had a protein shake to keep me going another little while until dinner. I had a few little chocolates and a hot chocolate, I am all chocolateded out!

Tomorrow will be a much better day and I will hopefully get some better workouts in as well to work of those little chocolates I had.

This morning I was up by .8 on the scales which Is fine, I had quite a bit of rice last night and I usually do hold onto it a little longer.

Fera I too have been aiming for 280, it has been my first big goal since the beginning. It has always been a bit of a barrier for me as I have been 281 before but never under it. Just now I am 281.6 Soooo close! I am hoping to hit 273 by Christmas so that I am clear of that barrier and happy to eat something on Xmas day We can do this!!!

Wannabehealthy Good luck on the mindful eating, let us know how it goes

CurvynotLumpy Dang that TOM, always makes the scales shift!

LurchMomma Hang in there, hopefully this illness will pass and you will be able to get right back on track

Okay, December, here we go. I'm determined to end the year lower than I started it...which means knocking off fifteen this month. I think it's doable, especially as I haven't been very routine about diet and exercise in the past couple of months. That usually makes weight come off pretty quick when I DO get more routine. Of course, holiday challenges acknowledged.

Start weight: 205
Goal weight: 190

Daily calorie record, weekly check-in (I'll do Sundays, in the hope that will motivate me healthfuly through the weekend)

Dec 1: 1400 cals

I walked for a full hour today, at a pretty brisk pace! I got a little over 4 miles in an hour. My feet hurt a little, but it felt so good to move... and I hit my step bet goal!

I also put new batteries in my food scale and installed MFP on my new phone. With the kiddo almost weaned (we're down to nursing first thing when he wakes up, then right before bed), I'm not worried about reducing my calories and messing up my milk production.

I am a bit puffy from sodium, so while my goal looks like almost 15 pounds in a month, I imagine with the combination of the drop in calories, the boost in exercise, and the water weight dropping off, I'll probably get half way there this first week!

Scotsgal - 280 is a bouncy weight for me, too. I'm hoping *this* time it will be different... Hopefully we can both get there and keep going!

Good morning! So yesterday wasn't great! starting a fresh today. Already did a kettlebell workout this morning, after lunch I will get 5,000 steps in if possible on a walk with the dog (depending on whether the tide is out or in). Going to try and boost my exercise this weekend to try and get closer to that darn 280 goal.

Bookmark Good Luck on the 15! I have 9lbs to lose by Xmas day which I think might be a bit too much because I have been really good recently, just need to up the workout for some extra burn.

Fera You seem to be making some great plans, keep motivated and I am sure you will see some great results! Positivity and consistency is key! I have also just realised that you live in a place called Versailles? Is it pronounced the same way as the popular France Palace? Ver-Sai? I am interested because after working in the states for 4 summers and travelling across many states, you see place names of popular towns and cities across Europe, but in the states. Typically named after the original. Many of them pronounced differently though.

Similarly like Pittsburgh PA, Very popular city, but it causes many Americans to come to the UK and call Edinburgh (Edin-Burg) the same way that Pittsburgh ends, When it is Edin- Bur-uh. A Burg ending is German, when a Burgh ending is British. I doubt anyone even knows that

Still sick. Hope I survive the weekend. LOL. Steroid has really helped my throat but it and the antibiotic seem to be loosening things up, so now my cough is getting worse. I wore my C-PAP last night. I haven't worn it in months. DH says I've been stopping breathing a lot and is mad at me for not wearing it. I guess since I asked him to take his smoking outside because it is affecting my health, it's a bit hypocritical of me not to wear the C-PAP. It's awful getting older.

Scotsgal: There is a Versailles either here close to me in Ohio, or in Kentucky (I drive back and forth so much, I don't remember which side of the river it's on). It is pronounced "Ver-sales". It's funny about pronunciations. When I lived in Colorado, I went white water rafting on the Arkansas river, which is pronounced like the state of Arkansas. The same river runs through the state of Kansas, and there they refer to it as the "Ar-Kansas" river. LOL.

Fera: Way to go on the walk. That's a great pace. Fantastic that you are making all those preparations. I know you are going to be successful. You got this!

Bookmark: Good luck! I know you can be successful. I know what has worked for me in the past has been low carb, but I haven't been disciplined enough to do it lately. Good for you to know what works for you and to go for it!

Carol Sue: How is the mindful eating going?

We have aVer-sales about 5 miles west of us, and a North Ver-sales about 3 miles north of us. Funny, but N Versailles is really nowhere near Versailles. LOL Must be a common name.
