I really like Elladorine's idea! I like fast food but for me this issue was/is sugar. So I quit cold turkey for three weeks, then I allowed myself ONE serving of sugar per week. On that treat day, I had to be especially healthy to compensate for the extra fat and calories. Now that I have some time under my belt, I'm not as strict as "ONLY ONE SERVING ON SATURDAY!" If something comes up (birthday, supper out, etc.), I'll have a small something, but most of the time I don't even miss it. I'm someone who had to have some sort of sweet EVERY SINGLE DAY, too. You'll be surprised about how much you DON'T miss it once your body gets used to the good stuff!

Your absolutely right there, Frances! In times past, when I've been successfully losing weight, I found that I could do just fine with TWO bites of something.

It was a psychological thing. Instead of declaring ANYTHING "off limits" totally, I'd say, "just two bites." I'd reason with myself that, after two bites, it wasn't going to taste any better...just the same.

I recall that it was very helpful. I'm starting to remember some of those little "tricks" that were useful in the past! *LOL*

I'm a fellow fast food junkie, thanks for this thread because there's some good advice. Unfortunately, my office building is literally NEXT DOOR to a McDonald's, and the smell of french fries nearly brings me to my knees! I'm hoping that I will soon find that smell nauseating...
