I have co workers who are on the ideal protein diet plan and they have scheduled cheat days where they pretty much pig out all day. I just really don't see how that works out.

I cannot schedule cheat days for my diet because then I will go overboard. However I will let myself have a cheat meal, such as date night with my husband or when he and I decide to stay in and order out. Other than that it's always spontaneous for me. I know what my weaknesses are for sure, and scheduling a day to eat whatever I want would be detrimental for me

I usually have one "free day" per week, but it's really more like a "less careful day." I will eat over my 1200 calorie limit, but I still log everything, stay away from sweets (sugar is my kryptonite), drink at least 64 oz of water, and eat at least 5 servings of fruits/veggies.

Nope, no scheduled "cheat days" for me.

They happen quite enough on their own without me planning them

This. Exactly this. I worked really hard getting into ketosis last week. A few bites of potatoes and a creme brulee last night...no longer in ketosis this morning. GR. Stupid beige ketone test strip.

I'm hopeful that I will be back into ketosis by Thursday.

That being said...there are times where I have planned to leave ketosis- like on my birthday. I just realize it will take me days to get back into "fat burning."

I use to do cheat days but I have abandoned them due to my problems with binging. At first I could pig out then get back on track the next day, but then the binge day turned into binge days and I couldn't get back on track the next day. I totally lost control and started falling into my old habits...and started gaining it all back...

So I got help and now realize that, for me, cheat days are very destructive. If they work for you, great.
