New Orleans is a great city, but it's certainly one of the worst for being able to stay on a good program! I did a bus tour while my DH was at a meeting and the guide said N.O. was one of the fattest cities in the U.S. While that might not be true, it was hard for a tourist to get past the po' boys and muffalettas!
Well Holly, Phoenix in the winter time is just BEAUTIFUL and a great break for all of the snowbirds. I think that the temp is usually in the 70-80's (depending on the time, like right now it is 90, but it's been 70-80 since January). Last year (and all three that I've been in the area) it's been 100 + from April until November.
I only suggested it because of all of the beautiful resorts and spas around, and if it were in March there is always Spring Training (I love baseball).
And it doesn't hurt that it is close to home!
Another good point about Tunica is the fact that the casino hotel rates are very reasonable considering the amenities. (I don't mean the gambling.) In addition to nice accomodations, the casino hotels usually have good entertainers booked. We saw the Russian Ballet perform the Nutcracker there in November 2001. And, as was previously mentioned, it's close to Memphis.
I would like to consider any place that is on the list, but Baltimore is driving distance from me!! That is where my husband is until he gets sent over seas!. So there would be no plane fare. But, If I have time to get the money, I could go just about any place!
I didn't put an end on it, but since it was on pgae 2 before you posted - let's consider it closed! Looks like it's between Chicago and Boston. I will post another poll soon and we'll choose between the 2. I will also list some "things to do" in each city.
