Yesterday I weighed 273.8 and this morning I weigh 274.8. I definitely attribute the pound gain to spending the day at the car dealership yesterday and having Mexican food for lunch. There didn't look like any healthy options in the area and my husband and dad wanted Mexican so that's where we went. It was good though but the scales show it today!

Hey folks I am so not excited to be awake yet.

QT: Great job on dealing with the disruption to your plan. (I hope your neighbor is okay.) One big key for me has been to learn that not every eating opportunity needs to be taken full advantage of. Getting caught out without planned foods doesn't have to become a reason for a free-for-all! You did great with that. And definitely never let short-term gains make you veer off course! Fat loss emerges on a longer time scale, you will never see your weight march cooperatively downward day after day (or even, sometimes, week after week).

Diana: My partner has lost a little weight too. She was only a tiny bit overweight, though. She loves good food as much as I do but doesn't have the bottomless appetite and has a better natural switch. I can always eat whatever is in front of me if it tastes good, and then go back for more - always. Oh, also, she still enjoys a drink nearly every night, something I have given up almost completely to lose weight. And, she has some back problems, so hasn't added as much exercise as I have. The sum is, she's trimmed off a little as a result of changes to the way I cook for us, but hasn't made (or had to make) all of the other changes I have made to my own eating habits over the past two+ years.

Okay, my report for today: I stayed within my calories yesterday, cooked a wonderful red curry with fish in fact that was super light and tasty. I did not exercise at all - I'm going to give this sore groin muscle a few more days to really heal, though I am really anxious about skipping so many workouts (anxious that I will have trouble getting back into the good habit!). The result: holding at 161, still 1 up from my current low, and I am fine with that.

Hay Diana Thanks for telling me that. Wow!!! that's scary. Can that happen w/the small individual powdery packets, that you have to add water to,also I drink about 120oz of water a day. Seem like that would stop anything from caking up But then again..that amount of water isn't enough to stop nuts and cheese from binding me up so.. Love your New picture

Sorry bout your groin Carter I had that same problem all the time too from the jogging But when i started to stretch before and after, that stoped that problem.Do you do Yoga? It really helps stretch out those muscle.

Ona Thank you. Here's the question about the water. Are you peeing it out and/or is enough of it going to the area where you need it? Here's the Magnesium Citrate that I like: http://www.vitacost.com/Solgar-Magne...ProductDetails I think it's worth a try. Or try the Metamucil and see how it goes with that.

HealthyMeWannabe Yes, Mexican food with do that to me, too. Give it a couple of days.

Carter It's great that you two are pretty much on the same page with your foods. It makes it easier.

Hi ladies
I'm up 1 lb to 204 today. Still 2 lbs lower than December and I'm happy with that! Great workout earlier, hopefully the scale will drop back down tomorrow.

Wow. I'm up 1.6 to 211 today. I think that's got to be due to sodium and not taking my water pill until the middle of the night (2:00 a.m.) instead of at 8:00 p.m. as usual. I double checked my food and tried to be really honest with myself about if something was really more 3 tablespoons than 2...and I still come up with 1900 calories, 2500mg sodium, 143g carbs and 164g protein -- so not ideal, but not a bad day at all. I'll have to wait this out and hope it whooshes away quickly. Today I'm at 1038 calories, and my carbs quite low at 29g for the day, so with lots of water as well that should help. I'll likely have some greek yogurt in a bit, so I'll be just under 1200.

ArcticMama -- Thanks! You should chime in more often, I always forget to look at the numbers of the regular participants who don't post often. You've been doing pretty great too...only 18lbs from your goal!

RRB2 -- That's a pretty awesome whoosh today! Wow! Congratulations

Ona -- So how did Rafa do today? Hope you had a great Sunday.

Diana -- The quiche looks good, except I hate eggs...lol. I wish I could like them as they would be a great protein alternative for me. Dinner yesterday was great, but I think it messed me up somehow...maybe it was the tzatziki, or the pita (I had one) and the extra carbs might have shocked my body! I don't feel like I'm retaining now, so I'll hope for a nice number in the morning.

QT -- Good job on making wise choices in a pinch yesterday! Congrats on your 1lb too!

HealthyMe -- My new thing at a mexican place near us is to order a taco salad or something like that...something less carby. Hope it whooshes away again quickly for you.

Carter

RRB2 -- Sorry about your gain...better luck tomorrow!

Ona, condolences on Rafa. I tuned in at 5-all in the 5th (that time zone thing is crazy!) and it looked like quite a match.

On another topic, I've started taking psyllium husk capsules (it also comes in powder form) to keep my digestive tract moving along and have found them to be effective.

carter, better to let that muscle heal than to do any more damage. You want to be feeling good for you big vacation! I imagine you'll be doing a lot of walking there.

qt, I hope everything is okay with your daughter.

Diana,thanks for the kind words.

I had a great weight-lifting workout today. I do this twice a week (after tax season, I'm upping that to 3 times a week) and sometimes it's tough but today, I felt really strong. I wish I knew why, so I could do more often whatever it is that gets that result . Hmm, maybe it was the 2 big chocolate chip cookies I treated myself to for lunch! Nah, probably not.

Weighed in at 158.2 again. Sweet!

Hi Everyone!

TTOM showed up today. Hopefully there won't be too much drama this week from it.

RRB2 Hi Sorry about the gain. Great job on the workout!

Angie Sorry about the gain. Don't forget to take that water pill early tonight. Honestly, you can't taste the eggs. You might not like it because of the thought of the eggs. Didn't you say that you don't like cottage cheese, either? I think that would be difficult. Both of those are great sources of protein and not much effort to make.

Steph Congrats on the workout.

Diana -- Yes, that's right, no cottage cheese either...all my protein comes from beef, chicken, pork or sometimes cheese and rarely peanut butter. I recently bought some sugar free protein powder that I can mix up as a shake or into greek yogurt. Last week I made the cauliflower pizza crust that Ona shared awhile ago...it has 1 egg in it...I only used half an egg to ensure I couldn't taste it, and even then, even though I really couldn't taste it...I had to really talk myself through it and concentrate on the flavours that I did like in it..lol. I'm a big baby when it comes to eggs. Oh, and I can't stand seafood/fish either.... I took my water pill by 8:30 tonight, thanks for the reminder!

I just did 35 minutes on the treadmill at a speed of 3 and incline of 4% and I'm so sweaty...doesn't take much these days! I weighed in just before that and was at 214, but that was just after some greek yogurt and a coffee, so I'm hopeful for the morning. I also worked asparagus into dinner to help with the whooshing.

Hi folks

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed yesterday and the day did not get better. Nothing serious or major going on, just a very out-of-sorts day. Somehow I did manage to stay on plan but I weigh in today up to 162, a bounce up of 1 from yesterday and 2 up from my current low. Time to settle in for the long, slow, wait to see another new low, I guess.

I'm sorry, I know I had some individual stuff I wanted to say but I am blanking on it now. Not quite awake yet! Good luck and good strength as we steer this month to a close ...

Hey gals! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I have been terribly lax on reading/posting personals lately. I did see Diana's pictures, which I loved - you look fab!

I had a great cleaning session on Saturday, put me in a great mood to get sweaty and extremely satisfied to have a clean house again. Very therapeutic! I held on through the weekend, but this morning dropped 0.2 to 193.1. I would love to start the new month seeing 192.

Happy Monday everyone

1/27/2012 206
1/28/2012 203
1/29/2012 204
1/30/2021 203.5

I'm glad my scale only does 1/2 lb increments, I can't even imagine obsessing over 1/4 or 1/8 of a pound
Great workout and great calories yesterday. Hoping for same today.

Running - WTG!
Angie - I live on eggs and cottage cheese! When I started SBD years ago, read the book and found out I can have eggs, chicken, cottage and vggies -I though - I can live like that
