Default Recipes?

Hi guys!

I'm wondering if you guys can give me your best recipes that are low cal and easy to make? I am trying to get through this slump I think I'm getting in and I think some new food might be a way to get excited about loosing weight again. Currently I am eating allot of fruits and veggies. I'm making soups for lunch and I'm trying to figure out some more lunches and dinners.

Thanks ladies!!

A soup that I just made last night:

1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
1tbs of taco seasoning
1 can of tomatoes with green chilis (I like a little kick )
1 can full of water
simmer for 20 minutes pull from heat and add
1 5oz can of chicken, drained (Don't add the chicken while it's simmering or you'll end up with tiny pieces instead of chunks)

I separate it into 4 1 cup servings for 150 calories each. It's high in sodium, but cheap on calories .

Have you tried the flat out flat breads? They're only 100 cal/each and very large and delish! I make pizza on them often- turn the over on broil, put it on a cookie sheet, broil for a minute until crisp. Add light spaghetti sauce, low fat mozzarella, veggies, lean meat toppings like canadian bacon, throw it back under the broiler until everything is bubbly.

I also use them to make wraps. The other day I put a tbsp of hummus, some grilled chicken, and some frozen green beans I had defrosted but not cooked, some tomatoes and onions, and some ff italian dressing. OMG! Wonderful!

I'm also big into the center-cut bacon. It's only 70 cal/ 3 slices and it cooks up pretty quick. In the mornings if I'm in a hurry, I microwave it and toast a couple of eggo waffles, top them with sf syrup, and i have a sweet yummy breakfast for under 300 cal. I also like doing the bacon, then scrambling some eggwhites and warming up some canned, ff refried beans. Put the eggwhites on top of the beans, then chop up the bacon into pieces and put it on top of the eggwhites, top with salsa, and bingo! Low-cal huevos ranchero.

Omelettes with chopped veggies & chz inside are pretty EZ; I like the wraps & pitas too. I also make soup & salads a lot for lunch. A salad with leftover cooked meat, or fish (tuna/salmon), boiled eggs, or cheeze is nice. And, depending on your plan; a small bunwich or sandwich or a wrap with the soup.

You can quickly grill any piece of meat: lean steak, any firm fish (i.e. salmon), center pork, or chicken and serve it with a salad, or steamed or sauteed veggies. A nice stir-fry is quick & ez too.
