Default JULY Points challenge! (This has nothing to do with Weight Watchers)

JULY CHALLENGE!! It's hard to believe that we are entering Month 7. It's officially the 1/2 way point. How is it going? Are you where you wanted to be? Do you need some accountability? Join us for our monthly challenge!!! It's somewhere to check in...some friendly competition.

Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points. That way you always know where you are and so do I!

For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!

Here is how it's going to go. Starting July 1, 2011. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.

2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way) Sorry, no 1/2 points.

Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.

This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!

Who's ready for a challenge????

Note: When I do the final totals at the end of the month, I only include people who have participated 15 days or more.

I'm sorry I missed June's challenge. I'm in for this one.

Food: About 1400 calories / not much rice, potatoes, pasta / lots of veggies
Water: 24 oz in the morning, afternoon, and evening - 72 per day
Exercise: "class of the day" at the gym or 30 minutes at home if I miss the gym.

1: 4
2: 4 / 8 (drove 475 miles to visit aunt and cousins and still managed this!)
3: 4 / 12
4: 3 / 15 (not enough water)
5: 2 / 17 (on plan, no exercise, not enough water) (drove 475 miles home - not as good a travel day as Saturday!)
6: 4 / 21
7: 4 / 25
8: 3 / 28 (not enough water)
9: 4 / 32
10: 4 / 36 (It's 9:30 and there's still time to screw things up, but I'm beat & going to bed. Exciting life . .)
11: 4 / 40 (ditto yesterday - long day . . . )
12: 3 / 43 (darn water)
13: 4 / 47
14: 4 / 51
15: 4 / 55
16: 4 / 59
17: 3 / 62 (skipped exercise class)
18: 4 / 66
19: 4 / 70
20: 3 / 73
21: 4 / 77
22: 4 / 77
23: 4 / 81 Tomorrow will be a challenge - working for a friend who caters - and is a GREAT cook - lots of temptations. Won't get to the gym and probably won't do any exercise at home!
24: 3 / 84 (no exercise) The pasta was a HUGE temptation, but I managed to avoid eating too much to go off plan! Surprisingly, the desserts were pretty easy to pass up!
25: 4 / 88
26: 2 / 90 (no exercise, not enough water - Road Trip!)
27: 3 / 93 (not enough water)
28: 3 / 96
29: 4 / 100
30: 3 / 103 (water)
31: 3 / 106 (didn't get to the gym - you don't even want to hear the story. I'm such an idiot! But all's well that ends well.)

Road block right off the bat with the gym - have to be out of town for a few days. Will have to see how this goes! Good luck to everyone who signs on!

Count me in again! I got 88 points in June and I loved how I kept myself accountable throughout the entire month!

Calories: Around 1700-1800 calories each day! (I may adjust this if I need to for nursing the baby!)
Water: At least 120 ounces each day
Exercise: At least 30 minutes of any exercise, every day.

Sandi could you put this in to the current challenges sticky? Just so we don't have to go through pages to find it (I imagine another day and we'll be on page three)

I'm really noticing how much better things go when I exercise. I get a point and I drink my water while I'm doing that. I need to work more exercise into my days!

I'm finding that I'm drinking my water more consistently when I have to post in here, so that's a good thing. The eating and exercise have been pretty good from the start, but it seems the water gets me if I don't have to account for it. It's nice to look at the month and realize I've been OP with my eating every day. That's my real goal - long term - forever - new life style . . .

OMWD - me, too. That big old water bottle sits on my desk. At home I'm not in one place long enough, it seems! Have a great day, everyone.
