  • I'm a late night loser. I'm up, insomniating, and sitting in bed with the iPad avoiding the kitchen. is anybody else out there up and fighting the munchies?

I have been OP all day and I'm not going to let anything break my will. Not even gummy bears (which are my favorite) that are in my kitchen on the counter, still unopened, and soffffttttt.
  • LOL! I might be fighting the munchies if I hadn't been completely off plan today and stuffed myself. Good for you! Don't blow it! You will awaken in the morning feeling proud of yourself!!
  • Me! My sleep habits are all sorts of off, so I'm usually up pretty late. I'm usually pretty good, but if I get really ravenous I might throw an extra 100 or so cals of pretzels in. Either that or I keep going with ice-cold flavored water, but I have to be careful or I'm up going to the bathroom all night!
  • I'm here! Watching the Colbert Report and avoiding peanut butter Ice Cream!

BTW Ghost, your Avatar cracks me up every time I see it! And kinda scares me too! What is it from?
  • I love not being the only one. I got up and peed twice last night and still when I woke up this morning it was like Niagra falls. I'm just glad I don't have to walk by the kitchen to get to the bathroom.
  • Glad to know im not the only nighthawk that walks around 3fc this late..I just got in from work..so..im here..im chillin..winding down..Ive been 100% OP today and does it ever feel good..now if only this tummy of mine would de-bloat..that would be great..
  • Me. I'm up, thought not fighting munchies (thank heaven! I've had a terrible time with late night eating recently).

I've found that drinking a lot of iced tea with lemon (yummy!) and not eating after a certain time (for me, 8pm) helps tame the munchies.

Although, I'm watching a cooking show about cookies, so maybe it's my subconscious telling me to get a snack? Lol!
  • Present. Up late, as usual. Only tonight I'm fighting an awful tummy ache. Enchilada sauce seems to make me feel sick now.. second time eating them in a week that's left me with upset tummy and the urge to puke. BF ran out and bought me Pepto-Bismol. Drinking that was seriously gag-worthy, but hopefully it helps.
  • In a funny time zone, so up but not late
  • Well, if this site hadn't been down for maintenance last night, I might have been up fighting it with all of you. I just went to bed early last night!

I am usually a late night person, even when I'm working, but I got laid of temporarily and now my sleeping habits are off. It isn't peanut butter ice cream - it's just plain peanut butter that calls my name late at night. And I KNOW it's a HUGE mistake to start eating it because an hour later it's like a giant ball in my tummy.

And - wait until you're 60 - you're up 3 time to pee even if you stop drinking at 7 PM!

But, all in all , life is good . . .

  • It's morning now for me, but I have a suggestion about the gummy bears. I don't know exactly why you have them in your house, but one of the most important skills I have ever learned in my weight loss journey(s) is the ability to throw stuff away that I don't need. I used to feel guilty about wasting food, but the reality is, eating food when I don't need it is more wasteful. It technically gets used, I suppose, but in a destructive manner.

So, my friend, my unsolicited advice is if you feel like that again - instead of obsessing about what's in the drawer and white-knuckling your way through it - take the gummy bears, open them, and throw them in the trash. Maybe even add some household cleaner on top of them just to be sure. Silence their call.

Congrats about an OP day! And about coming to chicks instead of the bears to handle your munchies. =)
  • The gummy bears were for my kid, lol! Wish I could have tossed them, but, they are incentives for chores getting done. Money doesn't work, but gummies do
  • Normally I am a late nighter too, except lately my late nights have been taken up by phone conversations with a friend, she has an easier time spinning if I am on the phone talking to her and distracting.
  • Wow, that is some kind of support you are giving your friend SMSDREAMER! If only we could all have such stellar support systems! Maybe next time I'm walking on my treadmill I'll call my mom.
  • You can call me Mango, and I'll eat noisily smacking my lips and making slurpy noises for you. If you're really pushing it hard I'll throw in some snorts too
