Thumbs up OCTOBER Points challenge! (This has nothing to do with Weight Watchers)

OCTOBER CHALLENGE Fall is here, only 3 months left of this year. What had you planned on doing? What have you done? There is still time!! But to get you going, how about a challenge this month?! It's somewhere to check in...some friendly competition. Join us for our monthly challenge!!

Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points. That way you always know where you are and so do I!

For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!

Here is how it's going to go. Starting October 1, 2010. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.

2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way) Sorry, no 1/2 points.

Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.

This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!

Note: When I do the final totals at the end of the month, I only include people who have participated 15 days or more.

I'm going on vacation for the first 2 weeks of October, but count me in! The September Points Challenge really helped me stay on track and lose 11 lbs in a month!

Goals:
Food - Stay under a NET total of 1800 calories
Water - Drink at least 40 oz of water
Exercise - Be active (i.e. working out, cardio, etc) for a minimum of 30 minutes

I'm in! I'm doing radiation therapy every weekday the entire month, and this will help me keep my eyes on the bigger picture - getting some healthy habits back!

Food: between 1560 and 1910 calories per day; between 500 and 1500 mg of sodium per day (for 2 points)
Exercise: as much as I can, but at least walk once per day (for 1 point)
Water: 64 oz per day (i.e. 8X8 oz glass) (for 1 point)

For my food plan, can I use points (WW) instead of calories?
Say stick to my 28 points per day.

Count me in!

Food plan: 1200-1500 Calories, and if I go over, exercise to compensate!
Exercise: Cardio + whatever for at least 45m each day.
Water: At least 36oz/day

October is my favorite month, so here's hoping for a good one!

1 - 3 pts - I'm subtracting a point today because while I made up the upped intake with exercise, I still did not exercise the hour I'd planned.
2 - 4 pts today!!

3 - 1 pt. >:[ Did not stick to food plan, only exercised for 15 min.

5 - 3 did not work out enough!
6 - 2 aaaahhh went out drinking tonight for a friend's goodbye party! ;_;
