I track my nutrition and exercise in DietPower, it's been a friend for a long time ~ when I first started using it, about 6 months into a weightloss drive in 2002/03, I was flabbergasted to discover that although my calories were great, my nutrients were dreadful!
Anyhoo, one of the self-created exercise entries I have is related to picking up the backyard after my dogs, every day, 2 or 3 times a day. I picked an easy gardening preset option, and renamed it "Picking up ****". It's daft, I know, but hey, it's exercise.
A while ago, I discovered that the calories burned drops as my weight drops. I know I knew that anyway but with all the other things I do, walking mostly, my times vary from day to day, so the calories burned figure is not so noticeable. This dogyard one is a fixed time (3 minutes!) every day.
So, when I started this drive at the end of May, it burned a whole 20 calories. As of the 185 weights, it only burns 17! I don't know why, this just pleases me, that my body is having to work less hard, day by day, as I lose weight.
It's the simple things.....
