First Time

  • Since I started this journey back in May that I have actually had a weight gain. I gained 2 lbs this week. Man was I disappointed. Everyone has said well it was over Thanksgiving and you have been sick and yadda yadda but looking back over my food for the week - I really didn't think I consumed more. My exercise was down a bit but overall I still was working out and I have even started doing more jogging and doing more strength training. Could some of this be muscle gain or is this just from thinking I had things going the way I wanted?

I am not going to give up and I am still working towards my goals and I know that's what is important. Just feels like -- well I am sure you all know -- blah!!
  • aw, wipe it out of your mind. sounds like you have a winning routine going on if this is the first time you've seen a gain. I know it sucks to see the numbers go up when you're working so hard to lose!
  • It could be any number of things, and I bet somewhere deep down you know that. It's just frustrating and it feels good to get it off your chest.

Do keep going and try hard not to think about it. You'll probably drop three this week.
  • I read somewhere that our body, in order to brun fat must first fill up the cell with water to flush out the fat or something like that in much more technical lingo. Perhaps once the water flushes out you will have a wooosh and drop. I wouldn't sweat it; what you have been doing has been working so keep doing it and you will have results.
  • Speaking of water -- that is something I was lacking in last week. I didn't drink nearly enough water.
  • I know it's hard, but concentrate on the big picture. Ask yourself what else you could have done: nothing. You stayed on your food plan and exercised. You will never be perfect because a little thing like life gets in the way sometimes. Just concentrate on the goal and believe that if you just follow what has been working you will reach it. It's better than the alternative no matter what.
  • failing to drink enough water causes your body to retain water. there's a good chance that feeling ill 7 not drinking enough caused enough of a dehydrated state to store 2 bs of water.
