I started off doing WW online and that worked fine for around two weeks- lost significant amount of weight but during that time I realized I am fat because I love eating bad carbs and good carbs. During that time it was so easy to go to the cupboard and eat anything if I had a craving-even good choices ie a few animal crackers. There was nothing I loved better than sitting with a bag of chips and reading a book. So I decided to try low carbing. I don't really follow any specific plan per say- I am not great with rules. I didn't go straight to induction but after a week I definitely cut my carbs back to around 20g. Now for carbs I stay completely away from pasta, chips etc. I get my carbs from fruit and veggies-I don't really track amounts of carbs but today would be around 40g. I sometimes eat 9g of carb each day from little breadsticks with my laughing cow cheese or from 1/2 fiber 1 bar- but other than that- no bread etc. I have zero cravings for it- which for me is a miracle. I eat eggs, chicken, beef, pork, cheese, almonds, tons of broccoli. I always eat if I am hungry because I know my body is telling me something. I eat 4x/day, watch my portions, limit my carbs, snack if necessary and that is my diet. I really don't eat much processed food. I do eat out in restaurants as part of my job. I never cheat, because I make a conscious decision to eat something ie if I want a bite of potatoes or a chip it is not cheating because I chose it and ate only a small amount. The biggest part of my success really is the exercise. I worked my way up- figured if I was losing weight without the intense exercise why mess with success right away. Then I started turbojam. Then biking. Now I do 45-50 min cardio and 30 min weights almost every morning. At lunch or dinner I do another 30 min cardio- intense bike ride. This keeps my metabolism up. My cardio is very intense, I am dripping wet after it. Sometimes I will add another activity in depending on my time and motivation- swimming, turbojam/sculpt. In some ways it is like a mini biggest loser program. In between my job is fairly sedentary, so I am resting and recovering. My biggest learning on this site is that no single program fits everyone- so best of luck to all of you!
