For me, the choice of style once I got into regular size was overwhelming. I didn't have a style at plus size - it seemed LB only carried one type of style, so that is what I wore.

Since shopping consignment - I have been able to try brands that I never thought possible and a huge gamut as well: Gloria Vanderbilt, Liz Claiborne, American Eagle, even Aeropostale. I started just finding clothes that I felt comfortable in, and kind of developed a style from that, although I am not quite sure it is a style per se, but my DH actually now will point out clothes that he thinks are 'me' - so I must have some kind of consistency going on.

I still have to stop myself from pulling the 1X and large sizes from the rack. My mind has a hard time grasping that my tops are medium LOL!

Lyn,

A couple of ideas. I love Chico's particularly when I was a little smaller. They have very cute things, most of them reasonably priced. Their largest size "3" is about the same as a 1x as far as I can tell. I particularly like their traveler's items which are elastic waist pants, and in black take you through a size or two.

What I have done when I have really lost weight is to call ahead to a store (most department stores, or Chico's) and ask to make an appointment with a personal shopper. They cost NOTHING to you, and actually will find sale items. Tell them what you are looking for as far as you know, they will pull all sorts of things ahead of time and do a lot of the legwork. If you connect with someone they will end up calling you for sales. A really good personal shopper will tell you what looks good...and what doesn't!

Enjoy the shopping!
