This week is TOM and it's the first time I've posted a gain in nearly 3 months. I'm up 1.5 pounds. Oh well...

Nori, I probably wouldn't even post it as a gain...it'll be gone in a few days, so it's not a real gain anyway!

I think everyone has their own "normal" and the way for you to find out what yours is, is to stick to your plan through your cycle and see what happens. If you go off plan you will never know if you would have dropped pounds had you stayed on plan.

Thanks! I don't think of it as a true gain, but I'm doing TBL challenge here and so it is a "gain".;

I also don't think I can do this every month!! I'm losing motivation!!

Just curious... how closely did you stay with your plan during this last week? Did you stay under your calorie level every day, or did you go off plan? I think if you did stick to it strictly, you might have to increase your exercise or lower your calories a bit to start losing again. Don't give up! Stick with it.

yah as long as you keep doing what you're doing, just don't look at the scale that week LOL.

I'm always up 2 or 3 lbs. that week, so to me that's 'normal' but it's different for everyone -- you can track it for a few months to see what your 'normal' is and if it's really out of whack some times then maybe it's time to tweak the plan a little - otherwise, it's a blip on the radar of life, don't sweat it

I stuck to it and don't think I cheated but I don't really track my calories so much I gues I really better start. I think I need to up the exercies. I'm at about 1200 calories so I can't go down there.

Trazey do you litterally mean a week? Cause it has been a whole week . I got TOM on sunday and weight went up 3-4 lbs then stayed up until thursday when it was dowbn 5 lbs and then friday it was up 4 and then today it is down 2 from that 4. Soemthing is not right here!!

2beautiful -- Are you saying something isn't right because the scale goes up and down, seemingly at a whim?

If that's the case, then although it doesn't SEEM right, that's sort of the experience most of us have! Check out this great thread about why scales fluctuate!

Unfortunately, weight loss is not linear, much as we might like it to be

Heya 2beautiful!

I thought sharing my graph would help. I count calories and stick to plan, for the last 2 months at least . My graph looks like a rocky mountain at times- but since the downward trend is, well, down- I know I'm on the right track sticking with it.

The graph represents 01/01 through today with everyday weigh-ins.

i NEVERRRR weigh myself during TOM. B/c i KNOW that it is going to go up b/c of excess water. Don't do it. It'll only discourage you!

fatbaby I'm also graphing but usually only do it once a week but I think I will start with daily weigh ins that way I can see trends liek in yours. Thanks for showing me that it was a real help!!

Cate TOM has been gone a few days and I am still up. I am starting to think somehow it is a true gain maybe I did in fact have more calories than I thought.

Starting today I am going to try to exercise daily and recorde EVERYTHING I eat in my fitday. I really want to finish february with a bang!! Wish me luck everyone!!
