I usually mix 1 cup of Kashi Go Lean with either 1/2 cup Cinnamon Life or Rice Krispies and sometimes I will add 1/4 cup blueberries or 1/2 of a banana. I always use skim milk (need to limit soy).
I've heard that Kashi Vive is awesome but haven't been able to find it around here.
High fiber cereal (like Fiber one but no artificial sweeteners)
Shredded wheat (like Post shredded wheat except cheaper)
Joe's high fiber O's (like cheerios but better)
I don't eat cereal in the morning but sometimes I'll use it as a snack in the evening. I also use unsweetened almond milk. It is 40 calories per cup and has protein and healthy fats.
I really like Kashi Go Lean Crunch, tasty and filling. If I want a higher fiber amount I mix All Bran with yogurt instead of milk. It gives the kind of bland cereal a bump in flavor.
I'm not a cereal for breakfast kind of gal, it just doesn't stick with me until lunch time. For breakfast I normally eat oatmeal, which I dearly love!
I will have cereal occassionally for a snack, and it's usually Frosted Mini Wheats without milk! I can pop those babies into my mouth and they're crunchy and satisfying. Love, love, love them! The strawberry or cinnamon ones are my faves, and when I get a box I typically portion them out immediately into the little snack sized ziploc bags, then put all those little bags back in the box. I can reach in and grab a snack on the run!
Mini Wheats with raspberries or blueberries
Cream of Wheat, yum.
Cream of rice, another yum.
Special K Cinnamon Pecan
Good ol' corn flakes, plain with milk
I second the Cranberry Total, it's yummy, and also the Kashi is good.
I like Uncle Sam with sf, ff, banana creme yogurt. Love those flax seeds.
Similar to Heather's experience with Kashi Go Lean, the first time I ate it, it tasted like cardboard.
Ok I use Kashi Mountain Medley Granola, It's a bit more cals but very filling, there are 220 cals per half cup, but I use about a quarter cup. I mix it in one container of Dannon Lite&Fit yogurt. That has 60 cals. So when I mix them, I have 176 cals, 11g protein, and 7 g. fat (from the nuts).
I am filled and I also liked the variety of the yogurt.
