Rice milk is a grain rice that is typically unsweetened and processed from brown rice. It provides vitamins, minerals and a moderate amount of calories per serving. However, unlike other milk variations, rice milk has a high number of carbohydrates due to its food source. Rice milk also has far fewer nutrients when compared to almond and dairy milk options.

Rice milk is not a major source of beneficial vitamins or minerals. It merely contains very small amounts of iron, calcium and vitamin C. Some variations of rice milk contain higher nutrient levels because of additives and fortified sources. It also has barely 1 gram of protein per serving, a nutrient that is well supplied by dairy milk varieties.

Each serving of this dairy-milk alternative contains about 2% of your recommended daily value of calcium. Compared to almond milk or dairy milk, rice milk falls far short of their near 30% value.
Rice milk only has about 2% of your recommended vitamin C value as well. A cup of rice milk will provide 1% of your recommended iron value. This milk option contains no vitamin A, nor is it a plentiful source of B vitamins.
