The Live Food Factor Diet: 8 Foods to Avoid

The Live Food Factor Diet promotes a raw food lifestyle. Dieters are encouraged to eat 100 percent raw food for optimum nutrition, and only eat as much as their bodies need. Because the Live Food Factor Diet is so nutritious, many who have followed this diet have been able to reverse conditions such as asthma, cancer, heart disease and arthritis. However, to obtain these benefits you will need to eliminate a lot of foods from your diet.

Cooked Foods

Anything that is cooked above 118 degrees F should be avoided on the Live Food Factor Diet. This basically includes anything that you cook such as soups and stews, as well as fried foods, stir-fries and baked dishes.

The reason you want to avoid cooked foods is because it is believed that the heat from cooking destroys the enzymes that are needed for the body to function and maintain its energy and health. When the body does not get the enzymes it needs from the food you eat, it is forced to produce its own, thus causing you to feel tired and worn out.

Processed Foods

All forms of processed foods should also be eliminated from your diet, as they are also cooked, and often contain harmful food additives, flavorings and other chemicals. This includes fast foods and most restaurant dishes, as well as anything that comes in a box, can or bottle.

All meats should be avoided because it needs to be cooked before it is safe to eat. This includes beef, pork, poultry, fish and other sea food.

Pasteurized Milk and Dairy Products

Pasteurized milk has been cooked at high temperatures to remove harmful bacteria and therefore it should be avoided. Additionally all dairy products such as cheese and yogurt have also been exposed to high temperatures.

Eggs need to be cooked in order to make them safe for consumption, therefore their live enzymes are destroyed.

Baked Goods

Anything that is baked should not be consumed on the Live Food Factor Diet. This includes breads, cookies, pastries and cakes.

Canned Foods

Canned foods are also not good for you and should be eliminated. They have been exposed to heat, as well as preservatives and other ingredients. This includes canned foods that you buy at the grocery store or have canned yourself.

Microwaved Foods

Microwaved foods are not only exposed to heat, but they are also exposed to radiation which chemically changes your food. Therefore you should avoid all food that has come out of a microwave, including popcorn and frozen dinners.

The Live Food Factor Diet is a difficult diet to adjust to, and a change that not essential to make overnight. As a matter of fact, it is not recommended that you do so, as your body will go into a severe withdrawal state from the food, and could cause serious consequences for some. The best way to make the transition is to start with a raw breakfast and go raw for as long as you can. Eventually you will be able to make it until supper, and then you will be able to go raw 100 percent of the time.
