The Hormone Diet

The Hormone diet was designed by Dr. Natasha Turner. The diet is a natural program which not only helps you to lose weight, but will also help you to feel better both physically and emotionally.

The Premise

Dr. Turner claims that fatigue, memory loss, or weight gain may be the result of a hormone imbalance. Therefore, the Hormone Diet is designed to bring your hormone levels back into balance so that you can begin to feel better and lose weight.

The Diet

The program outlines three steps for you to follow over a period of six weeks. At the first step. you are required to go on an anti-inflammatory detox diet for two weeks. During this time, you eliminate all foods that have a negative effect on your hormones. These foods include certain processed foods, artificial sweeteners, sugar, caffeine and alcohol. In addition, the program helps you to adjust your sleeping patterns so that you can use sleep to help you improve your hormones.

At step two of the hormone diet, she teaches you which foods and proteins are right for your body. She also recommends supplements for you to take to help keep your hormones in balance.

During the last step of the diet you are encouraged to engage in an exercise program to help you get stronger and burn even more fat. Dr. Turner recommends that you engage in strength training three times per week and cardio exercise no more than two times per week.

Things to Consider

The Hormone Diet will not only help you to lose weight, but it teaches you how to manage your emotions and reduce stress by teaching you to meditate and sleep better. As a result you will feel much happier and have more energy. You will also notice your food cravings disappear, as they are often the result of stress or feelings of unhappiness.

The diet will help you to overall feel better so that you will be able to age more gracefully. Additionally, you will be able to avoid many age-related diseases such as cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis and heart disease.

The first two weeks of this diet are the toughest as you are required to eliminate quite a few foods from your diet. This may cause you to go into a withdrawal phase, especially if you are addicted to coffee, sugar or alcohol as you will not be able to consume them at this time.

Another thing to consider is that you may gain some of your weight back once you get off the Hormone Diet.

The Verdict

Although the Hormone Diet is only a six-week program, you can make it a permanent part of your daily life in order to keep the weight off, and to live a healthier and longer life. The diet is designed for all ages, including both males and females. Additionally, the diet is not only designed for those trying to lose weight, but anyone can participate in the program to obtain the benefits of a long and healthy life.

    Hi Kelly,
instead of caffeine you can try Yerba Mate tea its all natural and helps with mental alertness, staying awake, and provides your body with amino acids. I’m in college and I take it to stay awake during times of excess studying.

    Hi Janice,
The Hormone Diet will help you get back in hormonal balance, reduce inflammation, remove food allergens, boost energy, drop body fat, improve skin and more! To accelerate weight loss you can remain on the detox diet for longer than 2 weeks. There is also a handy chapter towards the end with bloodwork recommendations that you can bring to your doctor to ensure (for example) that your thyroid levels are optimal for you, and your cortisol levels aren’t too high. You are also welcome to ask any questions on our Facebook page at

Good luck and keep us posted!

This program works SO well. I have lost over 30 pounds following Dr. Turner’s recommendations and one of my really good friend’s was able to conceive a baby after following it with me. The first few days are rough but after that, I felt amazing. No cravings, slept better and just felt better. Highly highly recommend this plan!!

  • Natalia

Hi Gina, how long did it take you to stick with it in the beginning? I mean, did you feel like giving into the cravings, or were you 100% from the get go? Also, how long did it take you to lose the 30 pounds – was it during the detox program or several months? And did you work out during that time or did you start exercising later, as stated in the program?

  • Gina

It really only took about 3 days and then I felt amazing. The first 3 days really sucked though. Once i got to the third day my cravings went away and I really didn’t have a problem following the program. The first two weeks I lost 10 pounds and then by the third month I had lost 24 all together. I didn’t start working out until the after the detox and I just followed the metabolic workout in the book! Good luck!!

Hi Gina, thank you for your reply. Would it be okay if I could email you to ask you some more questions? I’m not sure if there is a way to do that privately.
    Thank you.
