The Basis Of the Adult Presidential Physical Fitness Test

Body Composition

Body Composition is based on one’s BMI and weight circumference. Both of these tests can help to indicate if you should lose weight. BMI stands for Body Mass Index. It is measured according to one’s height and weight.  The higher your BMI is, the greater amount of weight you are carrying per unit of height.  Your weight circumference is the physical amount of weight you are carrying on your waistline. When taking these tests, you will need the following tools: 

  • a tape measure
  • a pair of scales
  • yardstick 
  • pencil

The FITT Principal

After taking the presidential physical fitness test, you may learn the motto associated with the test, the FITT principal (which stands for frequency, intensity, time, and type). Frequency stands for the amount of exercise you do per week. Intensity is the amount of effort you put into your exercise. Time is the time you devote to each exercise session. Type is the different types of exercise you should be doing to become totally fit.
