To keep your hair healthy and shiny, sometimes it’s necessary to head to the salon for a hair mask treatment. These hair treatments are often very pricey, however you can create your own hair mask at home with ingredients found in your very own kitchen. Not only is this a cheaper alternative to commercial treatments, it’s actually more advisable since you will be using all-natural ingredients on your hair.
Benefits of Hair Masks
Hair masks can help maintain the balance of nutrients in your hair, and also help maintain your hair’s healthy shine. Hair masks usually come in the form of creams, balms, or lotions that you apply thoroughly to your hair. Sometimes, it can be necessary to wrap the hair in plastic wrap after applying the treatment to give the mixture better chances of taking effect. Other times, you merely have to leave the cream on for several minutes.
There are many types of hair masks for different needs. Some hair masks are simply for making your hair softer and shinier, while others are designed to help repair damaged hair and eradicate split ends. Still others work to prevent dandruff or lice. Whichever treatment you need, there is an organic recipe to whip up the appropriate mask in your own home.
You can always go to a store or salon for your hair masks, but using all-natural ingredients at home is best–and cheaper. Most common ingredients for hair masks can be found in your kitchen. These include eggs, mayonnaise, yogurt, olive oil, castor oil, honey, and sometimes avocado and aloe vera.
