Using a few simple ingredients, you can make a face mask with blueberries that can aid in keeping your face wrinkle-free. With regular applications, a blueberry face mask can also work as a toner for your face.

Eating blueberries is one of the best ways to help get your daily requirement of Vitamin C. The berries are a strong source of dietary fiber, and they are also one of the most powerful antioxidant fruits. Long used in store-bought creams and serums, blueberries are widely accepted as an age-defying super fruit and contain helpful levels of manganese, vitamin E, vitamin A and riboflavin.

Blueberries Help Defy Aging

The term “antioxidant” is often thrown around in commercials for anti-aging serums, but the real meaning of this term is not generally explained in most ads. It’s not just a fancy marketing term and has a real, practical application in keeping your cells young.

An antioxidant is defined as a molecule that has the ability to prevent the oxidation of other molecules.   • 10 Blueberries (best if fresh)
  • 3 Tbsp Ground Almonds
  • 1 Tbsp Yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice

These four ingredients should be mixed in a blender until they’re blended smoothly. The mixture should then be applied to the face and left on for about 20 minutes before being rinsed off. This recipe is appropriate for all skin types and should be employed at least once a week for lasting, positive results.

Preparing a Blueberry Facial Mask as a Toner

  • 10 Blueberries (best if fresh)
  • 2/3 Cup Yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp Oatmeal
  • 2/3 Cup Honey

These ingredients should be blended until the mixture is creamy and then applied to the face and left on for about 10 minutes. Like the wrinkle mask, this toning mixture is also fine for all facial types. If getting a blender out each week sounds like it’s too much trouble, you can also double the ingredients and save the mixture in the refrigerator for up to five days.

Proper Application of a Blueberry Facial Mask

These masks can be applied in one of two ways; the methods are equally effective and are the user’s choice. The first method is using your fingers for application. Employing the index and middle fingers, the mask should be applied all over the face with a smooth, circular motion. Secondly, cotton balls may be used, utilizing the same circular motion for full face application.
